Justin Bieber Vs One Direction: Biebs Disses Album Release, 1D Plans Epic Response
The Justin Bieber and One Direction feud has gone on for a long time among their fans, but never between the guys themselves. Now, Justin is reigniting their friendly feud with just one Snapchat video.
Justin Bieber and One Direction are gearing up to release their albums on the same day, but Bieber wants everyone to know that he can still outsell the British boy band. It all started when 1D made an official announcement about their fifth studio album, Made in the A.M., after Bieber announced his release date for his own album.
Rumors about both One Direction and Justin Bieber’s album release dates have been up in the air since the end of summer. Directioners assumed that Siri confirmed that 1D’s release date would be on September 11, but the boy band made the official announcement on September 22, right after Justin Bieber confirmed his own musical plans.
The Biebs isn’t holding back. In fact, he’s taking to Snapchat to start a feud against the globally successful boy group. Justin shared a video of himself making fun of One Direction’s album release date. In the video, he shared “the face you make when you come out with an album the same day as Justin Bieber.” Bieber didn’t directly name 1D by name, but they are releasing their album on the same day as his album release — November 13.

Now that it’s been known that the “What Do You Mean” singer slammed One Direction on Snapchat, they’re reportedly going to get back at him with an epic diss. An alleged insider told the Hollywood Life that Bieber “should be concerned” about what they have planned. Ouch!
Don’t think anything of it: it’s all in good fun. The insider went on to say that Harry Styles and the rest of his bandmates saw Justin Bieber’s Snapchat video about the album release date and they thought it was hilarious. They’re thinking of an epic response to Justin’s reaction.
“It’s kind of like an inside joke they have and will continue to play off of each other. The guys didn’t take it as a diss. In fact, they will most likely come out with something on their own about their release date and how Justin should be concerned.”
Oh, burn! It’s definitely going to be an interesting race between both teen idols. It will only prove who is the most dedicated fan base: the Directioners or the Beliebers? Both fan bases have been through a lot with their bad boy singers, so it’ll be interesting to see which one will sell the most albums in the end. Directioners have remained vocal on social media, especially with the release of 1D’s album date and new single, “Infinity.”
As for Justin Bieber, he’s been trying to get in the good graces of his own fans and the general public. He’s made an apology tour, most of which including several appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Beliebers have also been waiting patiently for his new album, but they haven’t been trending topics quite like the Directioners do.
Justin Bieber and One Direction aren’t the only ones gearing up for a November 13 album release date. According to a report via Entertainment Weekly, other artists who plan to release an album that day include Boots, Cee Lo Green, and Ty Dolla $ign. So that means that Justin could be on the look out for his hip-hop contemporaries, along with his pop peers. But it would make sense that Justin and One Direction would be “feuding” when it comes to album sales, since they have similar music and a similar fan base.
Everyone will have to wait until November to see if Justin Bieber or One Direction will rule the pop world when it comes to album sales.
