‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6: Another Day, Another Sighting Of Jon Snow On Set

Another week and we have yet another possible sighting of Kit Harington on the set of HBO’s Game of Thrones. But is it really Kit Harington, and even if it is, does it really reveal his fate?

In the Season 5 finale of HBO’s Game of Thrones, Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) was stabbed repeatedly by his brothers at the Night’s Watch. While it seemed Jon Snow died in that scene, many fans don’t believe Jon Snow is truly dead and will return somehow in Season 6 of Game of Thrones. While the theories range from Melisandre (Carice Van Houten) arriving at the Wall just in time to bring Jon Snow back from the dead to Jon Snow actually being a Targaryen and will, therefore, rise again from the ashes of his funeral pyre like Daenerys’ dragons did from their eggs after she walked through fire with them. Since the Season 5 finale, there have been plenty of sightings of Kit Harington in Belfast, which is where parts of Game of Thrones is filmed. Even amidst the sightings, the cast and crew have remained tight-lipped about the fate of Jon Snow. Fans will have to tune into Season 6 of Game of Thrones to find out the truth, but show director David Nutter told Entertainment Weekly that Jon Snow is “deader than dead.”

Now the Daily Mail has posted pictures reportedly from the set of Game of Thrones. And, in these pictures, there seems to be a person that bears a striking resemblance to Jon Snow — a very healthy Jon Snow. So healthy, in fact, that he appears to be battle-ready with a sword at his side and the person being kitted up in what Vanity Fair has pointed out is probably Stark armour. The Daily Mail also points out that there is a woman underneath a huge umbrella that could possibly be Carice Van Houten, and, if it is, it seems that theory about her returning Jon Snow from the dead just might carry a bit more weight.

Another thing to point out is the fact this isn’t the first time there have been reports of Kit Harington on set and in battle. Two weeks ago, unconfirmed reports (without any images to back up the claims) stated that Kit Harington had been seen on set in the middle of an “epic battle scene,” with Game of Thrones fan site Watchers on the Wall claiming the event would occur in Episode 9 and will involve “many northern armies fighting including the Umbers, the Boltons, wildlings and more.”

However, these images do need to considered carefully before fans jump to conclusions about the fate of Jon Snow in Season 6 of Game of Thrones. None of the images show the actor from the front, so a clear shot of their face has not been captured to clearly identify them. And even if these images are of Kit Harington, he could be there merely to record flashback scenes. Or, alternatively, it could just be a cast extra that bears a striking resemblance to Kit Harington.
