Chris Brown Fires Back At ‘Character’ Concerns Following Rihanna Assault, Calls Rumors ‘Fake’

Chris Brown may still be dealing with the backlash stemming from his assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, but that doesn’t mean Brown is taking lightly to rumors that suggest his “character” is preventing him from visiting Australia later this year.

On September 24, TMZ published a report that suggested Chris Brown would be unable to enter Australia due to officials’ concerns over his lack of character, namely his violent attack on Rihanna six years ago.

Brown is currently scheduled to tour Australia in December, but immigration officials are allegedly trying to prevent Breezy from entering the country due to his history of domestic violence.

According to the site, officials explain that Brown needs “to understand if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you, ‘You cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia.'”

To make matters worse, the Prime Minister of Australia reportedly echoed the sentiments of immigration officials by saying that their statement was “brilliantly expressed.”

News of Brown’s alleged denial of entry into Australia caused an uproar with Chris’ fans, especially those hoping to see Brown perform in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth.

While Brown’s visa was not officially denied, the site notes that Chris Brown’s visa was previously rejected by Britain, Canada, and New Zealand.

Similarly, Billboard reports that an activist group by the name of GetUp! has launched a petition against Brown’s entry into Australia due to his history of violence against women.

“Speaking out against Chris Brown has nothing to do with pop music and everything to do with men’s violence against women,” the organization explains. Currently, 10,000 people have signed the petition to prevent Brown from entering the country due to his violent attack on Rihanna.

While Brown initially remained mum regarding the reports, the singer took to Instagram on Thursday to dispel rumors of his inability to tour in Australia in December.

Brown commented on a post published by The Shade Room, in which they relay information regarding Brown’s difficulty in receiving permission to enter Australia.

“CHRIS BROWN STILL FACING PUNISHMENT FOR VIOLENT FIGHT WITH RIHANNA!!” the post reads, with Brown taking to the comments section to blast TMZ’s initial report.

“It’s fake. TMZ just tries to stop my paper,” Brown wrote in regards to the rumors, implying that TMZ is trying to stir up controversy in the hopes of causing problems with his tour.

Despite the controversy surrounding Brown and Rihanna’s former relationship, it appears the exes still remained close friends after ending their on again, off again romance in 2013.

Last week, rumors began circulating suggesting that Brown was jealous over Rihanna’s rumored relationship with rapper Travis Scott.

While sources previously alleged that Brown was concerned over Rihanna and Scott’s romance because the Travis was a “downgrade” for his ex, sources close to Chris dished to Urban Islandz that Brown had no problems with Rihanna dating the Rodeo rapper.

The source explains that Brown, Scott, and Rihanna are all friends and that there are “no ill feelings” towards Rih and Scott’s alleged romance.

The source continues, “Breezy has mad love for Rihanna and wants her to be happy with whoever she chooses to date so all these rumors are not true.”

The insider further reveals that Brown has never attempted to interfere with Rihanna’s dating life despite his attempts to prevent ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran from moving on romantically after ending their relationship in March of 2015.

“People should just let [Chris Brown and Rihanna] get on with their lives and stop trying to always link them in every situation because they are both doing their thing and are both living their separate lives,” the source concludes.

Do you think Chris Brown should be denied entry into Australia due to his history of domestic violence?
