Kim Zolciak To Undergo Procedure After Scary Stroke: Can Tony Dovolani’s ‘Fighter’ Return To ‘Dancing With The Stars’?

Kim Zolciak Biermann remains the subject of concern after having a scary health crisis. Kim had a mini-stroke following her Dancing with the Stars appearance, and it is not known whether Zolciak can return to DWTS, reported E News.

With Kim’s partner Tony Dovolani calling the reality TV star a “fighter,” Zolciak revealed that she had a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), sometimes called a mini stroke. Kim is known for starring on Don’t Be Tardy.

Posting photos and information from her hospital, Zolciak revealed that she now needs another procedure.

“Going in for one more procedure, things are looking up!” posted Kim. “Don’t let the oxygen scare you its just protocol.”

No word yet from ABC on how its show DWTS will be impacted, but Tony praised Zolciak’s fortitude.

“After spending only a few weeks with Kim, it is evident of how much of a fighter she is,” he declared. “Her humor and positivity are still shining through, and it’s amazing to see the love and support of her family. We are hoping for a speedy recovery.”

Kim, who also is known from the Real Housewives of Atlanta, immediately headed to social media to share the details as soon as she could, and Zolciak credited those close to her for promptly reacting to the scary symptoms, reported Fox News.

While describing the past 24 hours as intensely busy, Kim sounded upbeat in her post. But the light mood of her share quickly became somber when Zolciak revealed her health crisis.

“I landed yesterday morning from LAX (took the red eye right after DWTS) I got home and within minutes suffered a TIA (mini stroke) the left side of my body went completely numb and my speech was gone.”

Kim praised her daughter and husband, as well as her hairdresser and the boyfriend of her daughter for immediately reacting to Zolciak’s symptoms. And the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star also noted that she was going to leave the hospital after recovering her sensations.

“I have 100%of my feeling back THANK GOD. Still in the hospital but I just know I’m getting released today!” wrote Kim.

However, in an update on Zolciak, Fox News reported that she is staying in the hospital and it is not known if she can return to Dancing With The Stars.

Kim admitted that although she wants to go home, she has not yet been released. The reality TV star also shared that her DWTS partner Tony Dovolani took time to visit her.

“This guy @tonydovolani has been by my side for 2 days! He even brings me my favorite coffee,” she praised. “Although he is always dancing around the room lol he keeps me smiling! Want to go home so bad! Hopefully tomorrow!”

Zolciak previously shared that she suffers from migraines and had Botox for that reason, reported the Daily Mail.

Kim uses the same expert, Dr. Simon Ourian, who manages Kylie Jenner’s lip fillers.

“I had to get Botox. I needed it,” emphasized Zolciak. “On a more serious note, it does help with my migraines.”

Kim shared that she has turned to Botox since her early 20s. Zolciak says that if she goes longer than 90 days without a Botox treatment, she has migraines so severe that she ends up in bed.

“Thank you @simonourianmd1 for coming in for me!! I needed Botox desperately lol and I needed to pick up some of his face products!” shared Kim.

Is it possible that Zolciak’s Botox injections somehow triggered that stroke, as 2 Paragraphs asks.

That outlet also notes that what Kim experienced is known as a TIA or mini stroke and poses the question that if the Botox injections did have something to do with that stroke, will she stop the treatments?

The American Stroke Association explains that TIA stands for transient ischemic attack. And while sometimes described as a mini-stroke, it is a serious warning.

A temporary clot causes a TIA and the symptoms usually last no more than five minutes. Typically, the brain does not suffer permanent injury.

But regardless of what the patient thinks it might be, time is critical, said expert Dr. Matarese.

“Whenever you have stroke symptoms, dial 9-1-1 immediately and get to the emergency room so you can be evaluated. Don’t wait to see if the symptoms go away.”

And the specialist cautioned that one-third of those who have a TIA then have a stroke in the next 12 months. Thus, a TIA is regarded as a warning signal that it’s essential to get a diagnosis and be treated to prevent that possibility.

To recall the signs and symptoms, use the F.A.S.T. acronym: Face Drooping, Arm Weakness, Speech Difficulty, Time to call 911.
