Has Nancy Lee Grahn Been Suspended From ‘General Hospital’ Or Not? Rumors Of Firing Over Viola Davis Comments

It has been just a few days since Nancy Lee Grahn sent out a series of posts on her Twitter account complaining about actress Viola Davis’ Emmy speech on Sunday night. Since then, the General Hospital star has been under fire for what most have called racist comments that she made. There is now an unconfirmed report coming from a site titled Miss Musing saying that ABC has put the actress on leave from the daytime drama.

They said that the suspension is indefinite and that the soap has also lost several sponsors over Nancy’s comments. Now, this is definitely not an official confirmation. No announcement has been made concerning this matter by ABC or General Hospital. Even if there was a secret source involved that gave them the information, nothing was said about that either. So, was Nancy Lee Grahn really put on leave?

The whole controversy started when Grahn remarked on Twitter about how Viola Davis presented her speech at the Emmys. One of her posts said this.

“Viola Davis winning lead actress Emmy’s historic. My upset is acting awards dont fix racial injustice. As an actor I see how irrelevant we r.”

She went on by trying to explain what she said but eventually ended up apologizing to the Twitter world after getting bashed by pretty much everyone. Grahn has since been silent on social media, which is definitely for the best at this point. But now that these rumors of her being fired or suspended is flying around, her fans are confused on what to believe.

Thanks to a more recent report by Soaps In Depth, they have said that their sources are saying that Nancy has not been let go from the soap at all. This magazine seems to be a more reliable source when it comes to information on daytime dramas and the actors on them. This is their statement concerning this rumor.

“Despite published reports on several Web sites claiming that GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Nancy Lee Grahn was being fired or suspended because of remarks she made during Sunday night’s Emmy telecast, we’re here to tell you she’s not going anywhere. A source confirms that the reports are ‘absolutely not true.'”

So, there you have it. It sure looks like this rumor just trickled from a couple of sites and went from there. There may be some news later on, but for now it sounds like Nancy Lee Grahn will continue with her role as Alexis Davis on General Hospital.
