Ruby Rose Boycotts Revealing Photo After It Was Published Without Consent

If there ever was an “it” girl during the summer, it’s Ruby Rose. After stealing the third season of Orange is The New Black, Rose has become a major presence in the public eye. Odds are you won’t be able to escape an entertainment news search without coming across her picture.

For an actress who needs visibility that’s a good sign, but Ruby Rose, who’s androgyny has earned her comparisons to the likes of Angelina Jolie and Justin Bieber, is boycotting one photo.

When Ruby Rose saw a particular revealing photo floating around the Internet, she spoke up on her own personal Instagram account. The photo in question comes from Untitled Magazine, who she posed for. Ruby asserts that the magazine released the revealing photo without her consent. For those not in the know, when public figures participate in photo shoots, they always consent and approve the photos that are used.

According to Ruby Rose she didn’t approve the photo that has been going around on the Internet. Not only that, but Rose didn’t agree to the photo shoot as a whole because she wasn’t appropriately covered up.

The actress decided to take matters into her own hands by shouting out Untitled Magazine by taking a screen cap of the revealing photo with the alert message “confirm deletion” over the area.

Ruby Rose wrote.

“I am pro ‘free the nipple’ so when I was tagged in this photo by fans I wasn’t sure where it came from but I assumed a BTS from a friends shoot or one where we had approved slightly transparency in an image. Imagine my shock to find that @theuntitledmagazine decided to publish images of me after we explained we wouldn’t be doing the shoot if I wasn’t appropriately covered.”

The caption continued, “The difference with working with a friend and or choosing to use nudity for art / and someone taking the piss and exploiting you is two different things. Not only is this 8 months old.. The photos unapproved but they also sold photos to other publications. The interview made no sense 8 months on.. Please if you are a fan of mine boycott this issue. Or you are buying into greedy, exploitative propaganda. I have plenty of other shoots I’m proud of with professionals coming up its not needed in your collection.”

Since the post, Untitled magazine has responded to Ruby Rose’s angry message, but hasn’t exactly explained how the photo was released.

Ruby Rose wasn’t happy with this non-apology either.
