Olivia Culpo insists she’s “fine,” but that doesn’t mean her fans, her handlers, and her colleagues in the TV industry didn’t have a bit of a scare Sunday afternoon at the Emmy’s.
As People reports, during the Red Carpet festivities at Sunday’s 2016 Emmy Awards, Olivia was playing a game with E! hosts Giuliana Rancic, Ross Mathews, and Brad Goreski, as the late-afternoon L.A. sun burned down on the event (the temperature at the Microsoft Theater would top out at 100 degrees on Sunday, according to Yahoo News). The 23-year-old former Miss USA was visibly uncomfortable in the heat, shifting from foot-to-foot and resting her head on the podium.
“You guys, it’s so hot.”
Culpo’s co-hosts kept a close eye on her, with Mathews promising to catch her and offering her a bottle of water. And at home, a fan tweeted to the official Emmy Awards Twitter account that Olivia needed medical attention.

Unfortunately, the heat got to be too much for Culpo, and Rancic wisely cut to a commercial as she was going down. When the cameras returned, Rancic told the Emmy viewers that Oliva was OK, while off-camera medics tended to her.
“We want everyone to know, Olivia Culpo is fine.”
Staffers got Olivia inside and into the air conditioning before things got too bad. Fortunately, Culpo was a good sport about her plight, tweeting a couple of photos of her adventure and joking about it (she also re-tweeted the post from a fan calling on Emmy staffers to help her out).

Olivia Culpo wasn’t the only Emmy attendee to have issues with Sunday afternoon’s heat. Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet, dressed in a black tux, admitted that he had “ice packs everywhere” to help him contend with the intense heat. He even posted a photo on Instagram of an ice pack placed in a rather strategic location.
“Keeping ALL myself cool on my way to the #emmys2015”
As of this post, Olivia Culpo looks to have survived her heat scare just fine and is back in business.
