Lady Gaga traded in her usual quirky flair for fashion in favor of a classic glam look. Gaga surprised and stunned at the 2015 Emmys Sunday night with a sleek one-shoulder gown, channeling Grace Kelly according to Brandon Maxwell, Lady Gaga's stylist and the designer of her dress.
Lady Gaga's makeup artist, Sarah Nicole Tanno, told People Style, "This was Lady Gaga's first time at the Emmys so we wanted her look to feel very classic. The final look was fresh but sexy and subtle yet glamorous."
Tanno added that the makeup she chose for Lady Gaga was soft and classic and meant to keep the spotlight on Lady Gaga's gown.
"Gaga always chooses one bold statement in her red carpet makeup looks. Her Brandon Maxwell dress for the Emmys has such a beautiful silhouette that we chose a chic and classic makeup look that didn't distract from the dress. Her overall makeup look was very soft, which is something we rarely do."
Also appearing on the Emmys red carpet was Ryan Murphy, co-creator of American Horror Story, who revealed more details about Lady Gaga's American Horror Story: Hotel introduction scene, according to Entertainment Tonight.
"Her introduction is a six-minute [scene] -- almost like a silent movie with no dialogue, and lots of blood and nudity. We started shooting on one of our first days, and you always want to throw people in with sort of an easy scene and she said, 'No, let's go for it.' So, it's pretty phenomenal and I think she'll surprise -- in a great way -- a lot of people."
"[Lady Gaga is] very creepy and scary, but in a very emotional way, which I like. I think this season of all of them feels like our most modern season, it's definitely our most sexual season. It all starts with that lead actor, which she is for us, and she doesn't not disappoint -- I'll tell you that much."
