Ronda Rousey, Floyd Mayweather Just ‘Fought,’ And It Went Exactly As You’d Expect [Video]

Ronda Rousey and Floyd Mayweather have unexpectedly, in the last few months, taken on a “fight of the century” feel every time their names are mentioned in the same sentence.

But given the fact they fight in different sports — and that one’s a woman, the other’s a man — it’s pretty much obvious this meet-up will never happen, even as the pair exchange insults on who makes more money, who’s more popular, and who can read/who can’t.

Well, fight fans, the impossible has happened, thanks to YouTuber Richie Branson, who uploaded the whole thing (via Street Fighter IV) earlier this week.

While using the classic fighting game to stage an actual battle between the two, Branson attempts to finalize the argument once and for all. And other than the fact 145-pound Mayweather looks like a hulking brute, the outcome is pretty much dead-on accurate.

Don’t believe that? Have a look for yourself.

Ronda Rousey also likely had a bit more trouble with Floyd in the video than she actually would have in a straight-up mano-y-mano fight.

Nevertheless, the debate will continue, as it already has among online commenters.

“I like Ronda more than Floyd as much as the next guy,” wrote one commenter, “but to think he wouldn’t knock her out is just asinine.”

(Note: Ronda Rousey trains with male MMA fighters, is about Floyd’s size, and Floyd Mayweather’s last knockout came via cheap-shot during a break. It was his only KO in the last 10 fights, so not entirely sure how accurate this statement is.)

Most commenters disagreed with the man above for those very reasons. Some found the Street Fighter edition of Ronda Rousey vs. Floyd Mayweather too unrealistic because SF Floyd fights too much.

“Not enough running,” echoed several commenters.

Others legitimately felt that the freestyle fighting format would favor Ronda especially since she’s proven unbeatable in close quarters.

Still, it’s hard not giving Mayweather credit where credit is due. He has managed to match Rocky Marciano’s 49-0 unbeaten record, and if he retires as he has repeatedly said he would, he’ll go in the history books as one of only two fighters to retire unbeaten.

What do you think, though, readers? Was the outcome of this Rousey-Mayweather mockup too farfetched? Do you think that Mayweather would win in a freestyle fight inside a cage?

Or do you believe similarly to a third commenter and feel that talking about a Rousey-Mayweather fight “promotes domestic violence”? Share your thoughts below.
