David Beckham Wants Wayne Rooney To Join Miami MLS Team

David Beckham allegedly wants Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney to join his Miami based MLS soccer team.

The Daily Star has alleged that Beckham wants his former England international team-mate to join him in Florida when his current contract with the Red Devils expires in 2018.

David Beckham, 40, believes that Rooney would be the perfect soccer player to immediately bring interest to the Miami club. And according to the sources, 29-year-old Rooney has already had his head slightly turned by the offer, as his deal with Manchester United will be coming to an end around this date while he is interested in relocating to the United States with his wife and children. Rooney has holidayed in the USA several times, while he’s also heard positive reports about how the MLS is continuing to improve.

Don Garber, the MLS commissioner, was recently asked about the chance of Wayne Rooney moving to the United States. However, as he is close friends with the Glazer family, who own Manchester United, Garber made sure not to offend them, and insisted that while Rooney is under contract with United he won’t make any comments on his possible transfer.

“He’s under contract at Man Utd,” Garber declared. “I’m personally very friendly with the Glazers. To even be talking about it while he’s under contract I guess isn’t the way we operate. We don’t do that. We wouldn’t do it.”

But it sounds as if Beckham has plenty of alternatives if Wayne Rooney turns down his request. According to the Daily Star‘s sources Beckham has been approached by a hoard of soccer stars to join his team, which will finally launch in 2018. Beckham and his team of officials have already found the perfect site to build a brand new stadium for the team, which will be located near to the Florida Marlins’ baseball stadium.

Wayne Rooney hasn’t had the best of starts to the recent Premier League season. Despite scoring a hat-trick against Club Brugge in a recent Champions League qualifier, Rooney is yet to strike in the Premier League this campaign. This has led soccer fans and journalists to question if Rooney is now in decline.

Without him, Manchester United managed to beat their deadly rival Liverpool on Saturday, 3-1. Goals from Daley Blind, Ander Herrera, and debutant Anthony Martial led United to victory, while Christian Benteke scored a spectacular over-head kick for Liverpool that proved to be a consolation.
