Real Housewives of New York star Heather Thomson has confirmed that she will not be a part of the new season of the reality show. In her official statement, Thomson explained that she is stepping away because she would like to spend more time on focusing on her business and family.
“The reality of it that I just can’t do it anymore. I have to focus on the things that are really, really important in my life and that’s my family and my business,” she told Perez Hilton. “While I’m filming the show I also am running a multi-million dollar business, and it takes away a lot of my time from the company.”
However, given the fact that Thomson has experienced a fair share of drama during the past season of Real Housewives of New York, it is likely that there were other reasons why Thomson has decided to quit the show. With that in mind, is it possible that she was pushed out of the show by her fellow co-stars?
If that is the case, Thomson isn’t letting on to it. In fact, the Yummie Tummie creator was firm in her stance that it was simply just the right time to part ways with the show.
“It’s all positive for me. I had such an amazing experience on the show, it was a phenomenal opportunity for me, I’m so glad that I took it,” she stated.
Even more, Thomson added that the show has been a great opportunity for her, despite the costs. “I put three years into it and built true relationships and lost true relationships, and for that I’ll be forever grateful,” she said. “The opportunity, the experience — it was all amazing while it lasted.”
Meanwhile, Thomson’s co-star and friend on the show Carole Radziwill recently explained to Us Weekly that Thomson’s decision came because she “knew it was time to move on.” Radziwill also stated that the benefits no longer outweighed the negative aspects on being on the hit reality show.
“When the opportunity came to do this show, I had this list of pros and cons,” Radziwill revealed to the outlet. “Three years in, the pros list is just gone. They don’t exist anymore.”
As Real Housewives of New York prepares to gear things up for its eighth season, it isn’t clear if any of the other cast members will follow Thomson and decide to quit the show.
