The eatery in the West Side district of Chicago is Taco Bell’s first beer-selling location, but there’s no word about the definite public opening date yet.
Those who were able to have a peek through the Taco Bell store’s windows saw that the restaurant will be selling beer, wine, and sangria, as well as alcohol-laced slushies.
The Taco Bell store in Wicker Park will be selling beer, sangria and wine at $3.00 per serving while the slushies, or Twisted Freezes as listed on the menu, will be sold at $7.19. Customers can add rum, tequila or vodka to any Taco Bell freeze.

It was in June when Taco Bell first announced that they would be opening their first alcohol-serving franchise in Chicago, Illinois.
In an interview with Fortune, the Mexican-inspired fast food franchise’s CEO, Brian Niccol, said that they arrived at the decision because ” a lot of people like to have a beer with their taco.”
Two months after the initial announcement, Taco Bell revealed that they are planning to open an alcohol-serving store in San Francisco and in other locations as well.
The store in San Francisco will be selling alcoholic beverages and appetizers, aside from the regular Taco Bell menu options.
Brian Niccol, in an interview in Chicago in August, said: ” The company is looking at opening similar stores in Boston, New York and Columbus, Ohio. We are underpenetrated in urban markets. It’s where you have that density, and frankly where people aren’t in cars.”
Taco Bell is observed to have doubled its sales and marketing efforts as they compete with similarly-themed fast food chains like Chipotle and Panera. Aside from selling alcohol in select locations, Taco Bell has also introduced delivery to some of its stores and is planning to expand the service to 1,000 Taco Bell locations by 2016. The fast-food chain has also embarked on an experimental catering program in some of its locations near Houston.

Just recently, Taco Bell introduced the Naked Crispy Chicken Taco in its menu. The new food item, a taco that has a shell made of breaded fried chicken, is filled with lettuce, shredded cheese, tomato and topped with avocado ranch sauce. The crispy chicken taco is priced at $2.49 or $2.99 in select locations.
Taco Bell is owned by Yum Brands, the company that’s also behind fast-food chains KFC and Pizza Hut.
