Amy Duggar’s Wedding Party Was Too ‘Trashy,’ Family Members Walk Out

Amy Duggar revealed all the juicy updates about her wedding, and how it turned a little too “wild” for her family’s taste.

Amy said in an interview that her wedding went well until the atmosphere changed from “classy” to “trashy.” Reality stars Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar left as soon as the music changed and the dancing and drinking started at the reception.

“The lights went down, the disco lights came up. Everybody kicked off their shoes. It went from classy to trashy real quick, which was the best!” Amy revealed to People.

The 19 Kids and Counting parents left together with their two daughters Jessa and Jill. Amy, who was often referred to as the “rebel Duggar,” said they had fun at the party that followed her classy wedding ceremony. Even Amy’s mother Deanna Duggar-John left early.

Amy recalled her husband took off her garter with his teeth. She wore a strapless wedding gown that exposed her shoulder and cleavage.

The newlywed said, “Everyone was having the time of their lives. We broke out the bar as soon as my family left. The champagne was chilled, we had whiskey, mixed drinks, everything. It was so fun.”

Although the bride’s after-party turned a little too wild for her conservative family’s taste, Amy explained that she still has morals. The celebration was fun and it seemed like they all needed a break after they discovered Josh had been cheating on his wife. Josh was also involved in a sexual molestation scandal that resurfaced months before the cheating incident.

She gave Anna, Josh’s wife, a big hug at the wedding and thanked them for coming even though they are going through a hard time. Anna was with her daughter Mckynzie.

In a report, the Duggar sisters are trying to move forward after the scandal. Josh went into Reformers Unanimous, a faith-based rehab facility in Rockford, Illinois, in August after admitting his addiction to pornography.

Amy set aside their family problems during her special day and described her wedding as “an awesome moment.”

“There’s been so much heartache and pain. We didn’t want the attention to be about what happened,” said the newlywed and confessed that she also thought of eloping.

She honestly said she was happy to be using her new surname now. Her husband, Dillon King, is a small-business owner.
