Halo 4 Limited Edition Revealed Along With New Multiplayer Info

The big Halo 4 announcements are undoubtedly reserved for this year’s E3, but Microsoft was willing to throw Halo fans a bone today by detailing the Halo 4 Limited Edition and dropping a few additional details on the game’s multiplayer.

The Halo 4 Limited Edition will run you $99 and includes quite a lot of exclusive multiplayer content. The first bonus is access to the “War Games Map Pack,” which will be split up into three packs and released at some point after launch. This perk allows you to access all nine maps at no extra charge when they’re released.

If that’s not enough Halo 4 mutliplayer content for you, brace yourself for the rest. You also get early access to six Specializations, unique Spartan-IV and assault rifle skins, an exclusive emblem to slap on your multiplayer Spartan.

In addition to all of the multiplayer goodies, Halo 4 Limited Edition also nets you a 90-minute version of the Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn live-action webseries, as well as bonus content expanding on Forward Unto Dawn‘s fiction, a making-of video, and a “Bringing Gaming into Reality” special featurette.

Last but certainly not least, Microsoft also dropped more details on Halo 4‘s multiplayer modes, which are collectively known as “Infinity Multiplayer.”

One of the modes included in Halo 4‘s Infinity Multiplayer is an all-new “Spartan Ops” mode, an episodic multiplayer mode that expands on the story of Halo 4. Spartan Ops is set aboard the massive spaceship “Infinity,” and has players learning more about the ship’s crew, as well as a new team of Spartans called the “Majestic Squad.”

Halo 4‘s traditional competitive mutliplayer modes will be found in the “War Games” section of the Infinity Multiplayer. The mode offers a similar form of character progression as seen in Halo: Reach, along with the aforementioned armor customizations that players can adjust to suit their playstyle.

Are you looking forward to Halo 4‘s November 6 release?
