Thank You Ashley Madison, We Now Have A TV Show

As if having the accounts of millions of cheaters using the dating service Ashley Madison isn’t enough, now they want to make a TV show out of the misery. Some Ashley Madison users have committed suicide, while others have had their marriages wrecked after spouses found out about their infidelities. But, thanks to OutEast Entertainment, a tentatively named show called Thank You Ashley Madison is in development.

E!Online has announced that Steven Marrs and Courtney Hazlett from OutEast Entertainment are in the early stages of creating Thank You Ashley Madison for Toronto-based Marblemedia. They have also stated that Jennifer Kennedy and Ian MacDonald are expected to write the script. Marblemedia’s co-CEO Matt Hornburg, indicated to The Hollywood Reporter that this show was already on the table before the recent Ashley Madison hack.

“We are in the early stages of developing a scripted series inspired by the site which, given the events from the past week, make the themes explored more timely.”

While Ashley Madison was founded by a man — Noel Biderman — in 2001, the showrunners have suggested the Ashley Madison story will be told from the prospective of “a good mother who launches the business to help support her family.”

While it is still unclear who managed to hack into Ashley Madison and revealed over 37 million users, there is some indication that the hacker could, potentially, be Australian. According to The Australian, security researcher Brian Krebs is hot on the tail of Twitter user Thadeus Zu who may be connected to the hack. Krebs cites the hack was first noticed when Ashley Madison workers’ computers started playing “Thunderstuck” by Australian band AC/DC. As well as this, many of the accounts Thadeus Zu follows are Australian accounts and the lingo used could be identified as Australian slang. The user also seems to be very knowledgeable about the Ashley Madison hack. As yet though, there has been no hard evidence linking Thadeus Zu to the Ashley Madison hack.

Australian radio DJ’s Fitzy and Wippa from the NOVA radio station recently faced social media backlash after revealing to a woman live on air that her husband had an Ashley Madison account. Perhaps they could help in either tracking down Thadeus Zu or have a hand in developing the Thank You Ashley Madison TV series?

As yet there is no indication when Thank You Ashley Madison will be broadcast.
