‘Dancing With The Stars’ Update: Jockey Victor Espinoza Will Race Towards Mirror Ball Trophy

It seems that Dancing with the Stars is getting a little sneaky this season with the celebrity reveals. The second contestant was revealed on Tuesday on ESPN2’s SportsNation. This sports star is not a football player, but he does know how to ride a horse quite well. Triple Crown winner Victor Espinoza was announced as the next person who will be shaking his booty out on the ballroom floor on season 21, according to ABC.

Of course, Espinoza will be leaving his jockey suit behind and putting on his best duds as he will be spending weeks preparing for a new dance or two each week. Is he a good dancer? He told the hosts of SportsNation that he is definitely not good at dancing. However, he is a great jockey, so maybe that talent will help him out somehow.

Victor, along with American Pharoah, wowed the nation when they won the Kentucky Derby, The Preakness, and The Belmont Stakes, which earned the pair the infamous Triple Crown. Espinoza was the very first Hispanic jockey to ever win the Triple Crown, and also this prestigious crown had not been earned for 37 years. He accomplished two amazing feats that day.

On Monday, CNN reported that Bindi Irwin was revealed as the first celebrity to be on Dancing with the Stars. She was on Good Morning America chatting about her upcoming experience and she is quite thrilled to be dancing on the show in September. The wildlife enthusiast has a sparkling personality and will make a great addition to the cast.

Now with Victor Espinoza joining the team, it looks like this upcoming season is shaping up to be a good one. Supposedly, the rest of the cast of stars is expected to be announced on September 2 on GMA. However, you just never know if another celebrity will be revealed unexpectedly leading up to that time.

Who else will be dancing their way towards that mirror ball trophy? Some other names that have been thrown out there are actress Demi Moore, Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe, singer Nick Jonas, and even Caitlyn Jenner. It is anyone’s guess at this point which stars will be discovering what they can do this season.

The pro dancers have already been announced last week, so now fans will have to wait to see who they will be paired up with. Dancing with the Stars begins on Monday, September 14, on ABC.
