‘The Flash’ Season 2: Linda Park Returning, Plus 2 New Characters Cast

There are multiple new characters coming in in The Flash Season 2 on the CW, and even with the premiere still over a month away (Tuesday, October 6, at 8 p.m.), there are still more new characters being cast. Plus, someone from Season 1 will be returning to stir up some trouble for Barry Allen.

As has already been revealed, Wally West (a.k.a. Kid Flash) is coming to the second season of The Flash, played by Keiynan Lonsdale, and in the comics, that character has a connection to another character already seen on the series. As Entertainment Weekly noted when reporting that Malese Jow will be back for multiple episodes, Linda Park is Wally’s future wife. Linda was a love interest for Barry in Season 1, but considering the tease from executive producer Gabrielle Stanton about her return, it doesn’t sound like that is going to be in the cards for the future.

“Linda Park will return as Iris West’s [Candice Patton] friend and colleague at Central Picture News and her past relationship with Barry will put both Iris and The Flash in unexpected danger,” the EP shared.

If you want to see something from the new season, TV Insider has shared a photo of the team in S.T.A.R. Labs – Barry, Joe, Iris, Caitlin, Dr. Stein, and Cisco – looking at someone (and Joe has his gun aimed at that person), along with a tease from Grant Gustin about how they will be dealing with the aftermath of the season finale.

“We pick up about six months later, and we’re going to piece together how the storm has affected everyone. …It’s not as different as you’d think, but as we move forward, some things will blow fans’ minds.”

In other The Flash Season 2 news, according to TVLine, Violett Beane will be recurring as Jesse Quick, “a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between The Flash and Season 2 Big Bad (the not-yet-cast) Zoom.”

Another bit of casting news from ComicBook reveals that Demore Barnes will be playing Henry Hewitt, a.k.a. Firestorm villain Tokamak. The scientist, too, was affected by the particle accelerator, and Caitlin is going to recruit him to join the team.

Recently, the CW has also released a couple of short teaser trailers, each less than 10 seconds, teasing a “bigger, badder, faster” Season 2, and a couple of Q&A videos with the cast and executive producer Andrew Kreisberg from San Diego Comic-Con earlier this summer. There’s a new power coming up in Episode 2, a new suit with an “iconic upgrade” and more.

The Flash Season 2 premieres Tuesday, October 6 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
