Today starts a huge wrestling weekend for both WWE and Indy companies alike. However, WWE RAW will be in the same area on Monday night and it too is already sold out and expected to be quite interesting. Usually, WWE SummerSlam helps to set us up for what we might see at WrestleMania each year as it is sort of the halfway point for most to judge certain stars.
For the last two years now, one person from the SummerSlam main event has appeared at the WrestleMania main event. This is a big stat to see, as one of the members of this year’s main event could very well be in the WrestleMania main event as well.
John Cena will take on Seth Rollins in the SummerSlam main event where both Cena’s United States Championship and Rollins’ WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line. While it uncertain what will happen on Sunday, we do have an idea about what will go down on WWE RAW this Monday.
According to The Wrestling Observer, we can “expect something huge” to happen on the show. Most believe it is going to concern WrestleMania 32, which would make total sense. Legends like Ric Flair and The Rock are set to be in town this weekend. While “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was in town for the WWE 2K event, he has since gone home and will not stay for NXT Takeover or SummerSlam. So we can count him out of the possibilities for Monday.
It was said that at SummerSlam, Rock would most likely appear to set something up with Triple H for WrestleMania 32. That said, it is now very uncertain where WWE could be going with their big angle on Monday night. We could very well get a big return on WWE RAW, which would be cool to see. However, there is no major star that would be present that we don’t already know about.
At the end of the day, WWE currently has many wrestling insiders stumped which is never an easy thing to do by any means. This could be one of those times where only certain people know what will go down, and those people aren’t the kind of people who leak information out. If RAW wasn’t already going to be fun with the SummerSlam fallout material, it just went up a level with potential surprises that WWE could deliver to us. It is interesting to note that Vince McMahon does turn 70 this Monday.
