Lady Gaga will play Countess Elizabeth, the nefarious owner of the hotel in Season 5 of American Horror Story, and the first photos of Mother Monster on the set of the hit anthology series filming in Los Angeles have already surfaced. Series creator Ryan Murphy describes Elizabeth as "a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people."

Burden's sculpture "Urban Light" was installed outside LACMA in 2008, and is made up of restored cast iron street lamps from the 1920s and '30s. Could "Hotel" take place then? Ryan has said "Hotel" was inspired by a surveillance video from an allegedly haunted Los Angeles-based hotel that surfaced two years ago. The video shows a young woman inside an elevator who was never seen again.

In a recent interview with CR Fashion Book, Gaga said that she would rather be called the next Iron Maiden than be compared to pop veteran Madonna.

"They're one of the greatest rock bands in history, in my opinion," Gaga said. "Some people really don't know the importance of metal and the scope of it. Those guys were filling stadiums, and they still are. I always used to say to people, when they would say, 'Oh, she's the next Madonna.' No, I'm the next Iron Maiden."

Judging from these images, Lady Gaga will rule the hotel in style when American Horror Story:Hotel premieres October 7 on FX.
