Modern Warfare 3 ‘Content Collection #2’ Detailed, Dated

Activision recently revealed what gamers will be getting with Modern Warfare 3‘s ‘Content Collection #2’ DLC later this month, and this time around they’re not just adding in some new maps and a couple of Spec Ops missions–they’re also adding in an entirely new mode.

Titled “Face Off,” the new Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer mode allows players to take each other on in one-on-one or two-on-two matches. If that sounds like something that wouldn’t fit with the current maps, you’re right–and that’s why the developers have crafted all-new maps designed specifically for the Face Off mode.

Better yet, you’ll be able to get the new multiplayer mode, along with two free maps, for no charge regardless of whether you have a Call of Duty Elite subscription or not. The content will be available on Xbox Live on May 15, with PC and PlayStation 3 players getting it at an undisclosed point in the future. Sorry, folks.

At the release of the Face Off mode, Modern Warfare 3 will be getting its second DLC compilation, ‘Content Collection #2.’ The DLC will be available to Call of Duty Elite subscribers on May 15, and everyone else will be able to purchase it on May 21–again, this one is also exclusive to Xbox 360 for the moment.

So what will you be getting out of Modern Warfare 3‘s ‘Content Collection #2’ pack? Just as last time, you’ll get three all-new maps (Sanctuary, Foundation and Oasis) for competitive mutliplayer and survival. The DLC also includes two new Spec Ops missions (Iron Clad, Kill Switch) and an additional two maps for the new Face Off mode (Getaway and Lookout).
