Iggy Azalea’s ‘Fancy’ Slammed By DJ Mustard, Janelle Monáe

It looks like Iggy Azalea has one more problem to worry about. The Australian rapper has been slammed by both DJ Mustard and Janelle Monáe for her breakout single “Fancy.”

Iggy Azalea found herself in a new Twitter feud with DJ Mustard. On Tuesday night (August 18), he took to the social networking site to slam Azalea’s 2014 summer hit “Fancy.”

According to several screenshots shared on Complex, Mustard tweeted, “the producers of fancy sued the n***as that did classic man… n***a suing for s**t they ain’t start. Fancy was a ripoff.”

Not only did DJ Mustard slam Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy,” but he also slammed Jidenna’s “Classic Man.”

He reportedly tweeted, “Classic mans a rip off… Str8 up! The moral of the story is I haven’t sued nobody YET… that’s like a n***a stealing a bike and selling it back.”

Mustard’s tweets reveal that he accused Iggy Iggs and Jidenna of sampling off the West Coast sound. The tweets still appear on Mustard’s account, which means that he obviously wasn’t hacked.

During his interview with Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning, Jidenna revealed that “Classic Man” was not a direct sampling from “Fancy.”

“Some of the people have said that Iggy Azalea is getting paid off this record. I’ve seen that a lot. The truth is, we actually didn’t sample it. But ever since the decision of Robin Thicke and Pharrell, we believe that it was important to make sure that we are safe.”

Meanwhile, Iggy Azalea took to Twitter to claim that “Classic Man” is a direct sampling of “Fancy.” She didn’t address DJ Mustard’s Twitter rants. Azalea simply confirmed the news to a curious fan.

As if it couldn’t get more confusing, Janelle Monáe also insists that Jidenna’s “Classic Man” didn’t sample Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy.”

During the interview, Monáe also addressed the accusations of cultural appropriation against Azalea.

She bluntly added, “Hey, she steals from us, we steal back.”

Iggy Azalea has not yet responded to Janelle Monáe’s accusations of regarding cultural appropriation. She appears to be focused on working on her upcoming sophomore album. As previously reported via the Inquisitr, Azalea recently flew down to her home country of Australia to celebrate the 100th anniversary of underwear brand Bonds.

In a recent radio interview, Iggy revealed her plans to launch a new album and tour by 2016. She also admitted that she’s been struggling with the creative process for her new LP.

“My goal was just to make something that I love every song on my album. That’s really tough when you’re an artist — to actually not have any complaints and be fully satisfied with every song. I wanted no filler.”
