Kanye West To Release New Adidas Shoe: Will People Call For Boycott?

Kanye West’s music career may be taking a kick, but Adidas still thinks it’s a good idea to market a shoe after him. According to the New York Daily News, Adidas will release the all-black Yeezy Boost 350.

“After the frenzy caused by Kanye West’s Yeezy Boost 350 June release in a white colorway, the rapper and Adidas Originals announced the upcoming global debut of the sneaker’s all-black version, coming Aug. 22.”

The article goes on to note that the shoes, which supposedly fit like a second skin, are supposed to offer an amazing level of comfort, performance, and style. No matter how amazing the shoes may be, Kanye West’s name causes a lot of controversy — this can either help or hurt the shoes. Kanye West’s shoes have become a joke on Twitter ever since they were hinted at earlier in the year.

But Kanye West knows whether or not people like him, they have his attention. Of course, that attention has been downright brutal lately with petitions showing up for every single event Kanye West appears at. A couple months back, there was a petition that sought to ban Kanye West from performing at the Pan American games. The petition’s mission statement on Change.org was very direct.

“The options for Toronto artists are far from limited and choosing someone like Kanye West raises several concerns among the people. Why was a local artist or group not chosen and supported, just as our local athletes are throughout the games?”

West went on to perform and received outstanding reviews, but caught a lot of flack for walking off stage early. West wasn’t as well received at London’s Glastonbury music festival, where thousands petitioned for the organizers to cancel Kanye’s performance. Mr. West didn’t get booed off stage, but did a version of “Bohemian Rhapsody” that most people thought was cringe-worthy. Some of the comments after the video show that, perhaps, Kanye West shouldn’t have tried to play a Queen classic.

“JESUS CHRIST MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP!” screamed Commander Neyo.

“Probably one of the worst artist of this generation,” said The Raushen.

Kanye West is too busy preparing his next album SWISH to care what anybody thinks of him. Let’s hope Kanye West can come up with some hit tunes that are different from the poorly-performing singles he has released so far this year.
