Nina Dobrev Chokes Up: Actress Gets Emotional While Talking ‘Change’ At TCAs
Nina Dobrev chokes up as she talks about change at Sunday night’s Teen Choice Awards. According to Fox News, Nina Dobrev got emotional while making a speech after accepting the award for choice TV show: sci-fi/fantasy and choice TV liplock (with co-star Ian Somerhalder) for The Vampire Diaries. Back in April, the actress announced that she was leaving the show, which she has been a part of since 2009, and the decision has been incredibly emotional for the 26-year-old brunette beauty.
“So the last two months have been a pretty big change for me. Change. It’s a scary word – or at least I used to think that – because it meant new beginnings, new beginnings with a future that’s unknown. Change is necessary – necessary for you to grow and to learn and to better yourself. Because everything in your life comes to an end. And, as this chapter in my life comes to an end, I look back at it with a grateful heart, and I smile,” Nina said.
According to People Magazine, Nina Dobrev choked up during the next part of her final TVD TCA speech.
“Because, just like my character Elena, I started the show as a young girl, and together we’ve grown up, and over the last six years, we’ve become women. Thank you guys. Each and every single one of you, I love you. And thank you for coming along on this amazing journey. So remember, change is coming, so hold and enjoy the ride, all right? It’s going to be fun.”
Leaving The Vampire Diaries is a very serious move for Nina, but she says that she is ready to try something new. While it is going to be difficult, and it is very emotional (this is what she has known for so long), she feels as though it is just her time to move on.
Nina Dobrev chokes up while talking about her time on The Vampire Diaries because, as she said in her speech, she really grew up on the show. She does, however, have an incredible support system, and her fans are sticking by her. Many are curious to see what Nina will do next.
As far as The Vampire Diaries goes, the Inquisitr previously reported that showrunners say that Nina’s TVD departure will not hurt the future of the CW show. What do you think?
