Queen Elizabeth Terror Plot: ISIS Reportedly Plans To Assassinate Her Next Week
Queen Elizabeth has reportedly been targeted by ISIS terrorists, and it’s even been alleged that the group is plotting to assassinate her at a World War Two event that is due to be held next week.
According to the Express, MI5 and police officials are currently in the midst of trying to “foil the assassination plot,” which will be conducted by British jihadis. However it’s also been reported that the plot has been masterminded by ISIS commanders in Syria.
The Daily Mail, via International Business Times, have corroborated this story, and sources have informed these publications that “a specific threat has been made against the Queen.” This has now convinced police officers to investigate the claim and review their security for her events.
According to their insiders, the extremist group has targeted several events that are planned in London around Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, and Westminster Abbey next weekend to mark the 70th anniversary of Victory in Japan day, which brought an end to World War Two. The terrorists reportedly want to detonate a pressure cooker bomb — which was the device used in the Boston marathon bombings — in Central London.
Other attendees at this gathering include Prince Charles and British Primer Minister David Cameron, but police officials are primarily concerned with protecting the Queen.
However, despite these concerns, the Queen is believed to have told the officials that warned her about the attacks that she still plans to attend these events, because she feels that it is her duty to “honour the fallen.”
No arrests have been made yet in connection to the terrorist attacks, but Sir Bernard Hogan Howe, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, has previously spoken about how the service has never been more prepared for an attack.
“We intend first of all to stop them from getting to attack,” he explained. “But should we not stop the terrorist in their planning, it’s essential we disrupt them in any of the attacks that may take place.”
David Cameron also recently spoke to the BBC about the seriousness of a planned terrorist attack on British soil, stating, “There are people in Iraq and Syria who are plotting to carry out terrible acts in Britain and elsewhere and as long as ISIL (Islamic State) exists in those two countries we are a threat.”
Buckingham Palace hasn’t commented on the plot, with a spokesman insisting, “It is not something we would comment on.”
