Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj are clearly head-over-heels for one another. We get that. But when did Meek Mill put his relationship with Nicki on the same level as Jay Z and Beyoncé?
Not everyone is buying it. Drake, for example, is one who doesn’t quite believe the Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj hype.
Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj have been getting a lot of press lately after Drake dissed the couple in his recent song, “Back to Back.” Meek Mill is okay with that though, because in his own mind, he and Nicki are just like another great hip-hop couple: Jay Z and Beyoncé.
While talking to Billboard Music , Meek Mill reminded fans that it’s even okay for street rappers to be a little soft once in a while — especially when it comes to the lady.
“You can’t be hard all the time, man. There’s both sides to everything. What’s wrong with it? Jay Z was a street rapper and he had a girlfriend.”
While there are some who doubt that Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj will ever be on Jay and Queen Bey’s level, others think that Meek Mill’s comparison wasn’t all that far off base.
Taylor Weatherby of Hollywood Life , for example, said that Nicki is already a superstar and that Meek Mill is on his way to stardom.
“Meek has a pretty good point—after all, Jay-Z and Beyonce have become one of the most powerful couples in music! Nicki has already reached super stardom and Meek is on his way, so he’s not terribly wrong for making that comparison. Plus, it’s a great way to validate Meek’s confidence in his relationship!”
The beef which led to the relationship diss from Drake began after Meek Mill accused Drake of using ghostwritten lyrics.

The Twitter feud began on July 21, and “Back to Back” was the second diss song from Drake directed at Meek Mill. The first was “Charged Up.” Meek Mill has yet to respond with a diss song of his own.
