Jeff Jarrett Makes Emotional TNA Hall Of Fame Speech At Induction Ceremony [Video]

Jeff Jarrett was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame on the latest edition of Impact Wrestling, and he had a hard time keeping it together.

In the video below, Jarrett starts out by thanking Dixie Carter for bringing the former NWA/TNA World Heavyweight Champion into the Hall of Fame, telling her that “without you, I wouldn’t be standing here tonight” and thanking her for deciding that she “wanted Jeff Jarrett in the TNA Hall of Fame.”

Jarrett is now the owner of Global Force Wrestling, but recently finished up an “invasion” angle with his former company after years of “ups and downs” with Carter, which he freely admits to in the video.

“And then you got to bring it home to family,” he then said.

It’s at this point that Double J talks candidly about a falling out that he had with his family, former wrestling promoter Jerry Jarrett.

Jeff admits their falling out was over business, but thanks his dad for making him the man he is today, while pausing to keep from breaking down in tears several times.

Perhaps the most interesting part of the video, however, comes at the end when Jarrett talks directly to his wife Karen, formerly Karen Angle, the ex-wife of TNA’s biggest current name, Kurt Angle. But here, have a listen for yourself.

When Jeff Jarrett and Karen Angle got together, Jarrett decided to work it into the TNA storylines at the time (around 2011), while Angle was still very much a part of the wrestling organization.

This elicited an understandably harsh rebuttal from the Olympic gold medalist, preserved here by Bleacher Report.

At the time, Kurt Angle tweeted his displeasure.

“The ‘Jarrett’ segments on TNA Impact were appalling. It made me look like a dead beat Dad which I am not (I can assure you). And it made Karen and Jeff look like the perfect American Family. MY kids were calling Jeff ‘Daddy Jeff.’

“NOBODY will ever replace me as the Father of my kids. You want me to look like the bad person? Don’t forget who wanted the divorce! I didn’t walk away from my family, Karen did. So keep your little ‘act’ going on TV. It’s amusing to me, but don’t think for a million years that my fans are buying this crap.”

Naturally, Jeff Jarrett didn’t mention Kurt Angle in the speech, and Angle didn’t stick around for the handshakes afterward.

What do you think of Jeff Jarrett taking his place in the TNA Hall of Fame? Is it deserved?
