WWE Rumors: Sting In Great Shape But Pulled From Six-Man Tag At SummerSlam – Could He Replace John Cena In WWE Title Match With Seth Rollins?

One of the biggest rumors that have been going around in the wrestling world lately is that Sting is going to be a part of WWE SummerSlam. Well, that rumor appears to have finally fizzled, and he’s said to have been prepared for a big six-man tag match at the event, but he’s been pulled from it. One has to wonder, though, could WWE end up using him in a bigger match on the card?

PW Insider is reporting that Sting was going to team with Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns to take on The Wyatt Family at SummerSlam. The Wyatts would bring in a third family member, rumored to be Leo Kruger or Bo Dallas, and that would have Ambrose and Reigns recruit Sting.

Well, as WrestleZone states, Sting is said to have gotten himself into “ridiculously good shape” for a 56-year-old man. Unfortunately for the fans, that doesn’t mean much at this time as WWE has apparently told the legend that plans have changed.

Storylines on WWE television lately have still hinted that Reigns and Ambrose will take on The Wyatt Family, but it may not be a six-man tag. WWE originally wanted to team Sting with Reigns so that the tough New York City crowd didn’t boo him.

That means, as of now’ Sting is only going to be in New York for the meet-and-greet that was announced by WWE during SummerSlam weekend.

Now, this doesn’t mean that Sting won’t end up being on the card or in a match at SummerSlam as WWE could want to keep it a secret as long as possible. Then again, there were originally rumors right after Battleground that Sting could be moving onto something bigger.

One rumor was that he would get his first and likely only chance at the WWE World Heavyweight Title and take on Seth Rollins. When The Undertaker returned and began a program with Brock Lesnar, Rollins was without a feud.

Well, that lasted just one day. Less than 24 hours later on Monday Night Raw, John Cena and Rollins started a program that has hinted at continuing to SummerSlam for the WWE Title.

Unfortunately, Cena had his nose broken by Rollins this past Monday and had to undergo emergency surgery to correct it. Medical professionals are advising that he stay out of in-ring action for a couple of weeks, but it’s not known if he will follow those orders.

If Cena does indeed have to miss some time and can’t wrestle at SummerSlam, could WWE shock the world and have Sting take on Seth Rollins for the WWE Title? That’s a big question mark, but as of now, it looks like Sting is no longer in the six-man tag match and may not appear on the card at all.
