Detroit Tigers Trade Rumors: David Price, Yoenis Cespedes, Joakim Soria Confirmed Available By Tigers

Detroit Tigers trade rumors suggest David Price, Yoenis Cespedes, and Joakim Soria will be dealt before the MLB trade deadline. That could lead to a series of Tigers trades, or possibly one large deal with a team looking to add several pieces for the final two months of the season. A new report from the Detroit Free Press confirms that the front office is about to deal off some very big names in the next 36 hours.

Many teams have been linked to the Tigers, including the New York Yankees having interest in David Price, the Baltimore Orioles and New York Mets checking in on Yoenis Cespedes, and several teams looking for bullpen help calling about Joakim Soria. Price is putting up superb numbers again in the 2015 MLB season, while Cespedes and Soria have regained a lot of value.

Soria has a 2.81 ERA, a 1.049 WHIP, and 23 saves this season. Cespedes has a.289 batting average, 17 home runs, and 58 RBIs already. It’s possible he hits career-highs in all those offensive categories. As for Price, he is 9-4 with a 2.53 ERA, 1.110 WHIP, and 138 strikeouts over 146 innings this season. Al three players become free agents after the 2015 MLB Playoffs.

The fresh Detroit Tigers trade rumors were addressed by team president and general manager Dave Dombrowski. He spoke in-depth about the tough process of actually becoming “sellers” before the MLB trade deadline, confirming that the team has reached a point where it has become more important to look to the future. He also wants fans to know that despite efforts to trade players, the team is still going to try to win games.

“I would say that the process of where we are right now, we have to make decisions, and that we’re willing to listen to clubs offers on our free agent players… When I say that, we’re more in a position where we’re not giving up in the sense that you go out there and try to win every single day but, in our position, we look at it more as a rebooting going into next year.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, MLB analysts have been stating since the Miguel Cabrera injury that the Tigers might need to start dealing off pending free agents. Keeping Yoenis Cespedes won’t result in draft pick compensation when he hits free agency, making him the most likely player to be dealt immediately. As for David Price, he is one of the best pitchers in baseball, meaning a team might overpay to rent him. There are going to be a lot of new Detroit Tigers trade rumors after the confirmation that the team is “selling,” possibly beginning with a blockbuster deal involving Price and the San Francisco Giants.
