Wes Scantlin Arrested For DWI – Puddle Of Mudd Singer Even Ran From Cops

Puddle of Mudd lead singer Wes Scantlin is once again behind bars. This time, he was not only driving under the influence of alcohol, but he even attempted to flee from the cops.

Scantlin was arrested in Minnesota for allegedly driving while severely intoxicated. According to official records, Wes Scantlin’s blood contained four times the legal amount of alcohol permissible while driving. What made the matters worse for the lead singer was that he reportedly did not comply with repeated requests to slow down. Instead, Scantlin attempted to make a run for it and ended up leading the cops on a 100 MPH chase, reported TMZ.

According to Renville County Sheriff’s Department, Scantlin displayed all the telltale signs of a drunk driver. He was said to be speeding way over the legal speed limit, which alerted the cops, who followed Scantlin’s car. However, instead of slowing down and stopping after hearing the siren wailing and seeing the red-and-blue lights flashing, Wes Scantlin started speeding even more, confirmed the arresting officer.

The officer gave chase and eventually wore the Puddle of Mudd singer down. When he finally pulled over, Scantlin was slurring his words and smelled of alcohol, added the arresting officer. When the officer administered a preliminary breathalyzer test, it indicated that Scantlin was drunk. However, what’s concerning is that breathalyzer test turned up a result of 0.310, which is four times the legal limit.

Wes Scantlin was immediately placed under arrest and was eventually charged with DWI (Driving While Impaired) as well as attempting to flee from a police officer in a motor vehicle, which may also be legally interpreted as resisting arrest, reported MSN. If that’s not all, a stubborn and uncooperative Puddle of Mudd lead singer is said to have refused to submit to further testing. As a result, additional charges were slapped on.

Wes Scantlin is no stranger to law enforcement. He was arrested for domestic violence in 2013. Before that, the Puddle of Mudd lead singer was arrested after being embroiled in a fight in L.A. Wes Scantlin is certainly an interesting character as he had “happily” signed his divorce settlement with his wife of four years, Jessica.

It isn’t immediately clear if Scantlin has posted bail, but considering the aggravation he allegedly caused for the police, it might not be easy for the Puddle of Mudd lead singer.
