Spider-Man Spotted On The ‘Suicide Squad’ Set, Another Major Cameo Leak?

Suicide Squad has certainly witnessed its fair share of spoilers during the film’s production in Toronto. With that in mind, another big cameo appearance by a superhero was rumored to be in the works after a photo from one of the cast members leaked online.

Joel Kinnaman, who will be playing Rick Flagg in the new movie, recently posted a photo on his Instagram account that immediately sent fans in a frenzy, as reported by Hollywood Life. Although Kinnaman quickly deleted the photo after posting it, fans were able to get a snapshot of it before he took it down.

The photo shows Kinnaman posing next to co-star Kevin Vance and Tom Holland while on the set of Suicide Squad. Holland is set to become Marvel’s newest Spider-Man, which has many to question why Holland was present for the filming of Suicide Squad. Is Spider-Man going to be making an appearance in the movie?

The image, which features Holland carrying a huge gun fully equipped with bullets, was posted with the caption, “We had a Marvel intruder on set today. Just in case those spidey senses stop working we got Tommie loaded up.”

What’s most interesting about the image is the fact that Spider-Man is a Marvel superhero, while Suicide Squad is in the DC Comics camp. Although some fans are hoping for a possible crossover between the two companies, that isn’t likely to happen anytime soon.

This fact makes it seem less likely that Spider-Man will be making an appearance in Suicide Squad. In fact, the real reason why Holland was in Toronto for the filming of Suicide Squad is probably because he is currently filming just across the border for his newest indie movie, Back Country. It’s likely that Holland just stopped by the studio to visit Kinnaman, who also has a part in the movie.

Moreover, Kinnaman probably decided to take down the image due to its gun toting nature. Marvel, Sony, and Disney likely weren’t very happy with their new Spiderman being portrayed as a gun-loving superhero.

Whatever the reasons, a crossover appearance of Spider-Man and Suicide Squad isn’t likely to happen anytime soon. In fact, the photo posted by Kinnaman is probably the closest fans will ever get to a partnership between DC and Marvel.

In addition to his role as the new Spider-Man, Holland is also set to make a cameo appearance in the upcoming film Captain America: Civil War.

Suicide Squad opens August 6, 2016.
