Miranda Lambert And Blake Shelton Are Still Friends Amid Divorce

Amid the public divorce of country singers Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, it seems that the ex-couple are still on good terms. They both took to Twitter in a friendly conversation today.

People reports that Shelton, 39, took to Twitter to post about country singer Ashley Monroe’s album, The Blade. The singer’s new album dropped last Friday, and Shelton, obviously appreciative of Monroe’s music, tweeted to Lambert, 31, about it.

Lambert answered her ex-husband, shortly after, indicating that it’s the best work she’s ever done. Lambert worked with Monroe, 28, on the album, as well as previous albums.

Monroe has worked on Lambert’s albums as well, including co-writing the songs on Lambert’s 2011 album, Revolution.

Yet, despite the friendly tweets among the ex-couple, some people thought it was uncomfortably awkward, seeing as how Shelton and Lambert are in the middle of public scrutiny after their divorce.

Others thought that perhaps the ex-couple’s tweets were pre-set before the divorce, but Shelton quickly dismissed the idea, indicating that all of his tweets are made in real-time only.

“Nope.. Not at all buddy.”

Shelton and Lambert continued friendly jokes back and forth via Twitter, showing their fans that although they may be divorcing, they are still friends with each other. Lambert joked about a picture of Shelton pushing a baby stroller, and teased him about being pregnant. Shelton, not missing a beat, joked that he was never fat, just pregnant.

Meanwhile, Monroe seems to be extremely proud of Lambert and her accomplishments in country music. She recently told Entertainment Tonight that she’s been friends with Monroe for years, but still looks up to her.

“I just look up to her so much. I’ve known her for 10 years and we’ve been best friends for almost 10 years, but I still watch her shows every night when I’m on tour with her and anytime I’m out on the road just hangin’ out, I just watch her because she just blows me away. She’s the real deal, for sure.”

Lambert and Monroe are part of the all-female country group, Pistol Annies, along with singer Angaleena Presley.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert were married for four years, but knew each other for years before marrying. In 2005, they performed as a powerful duet, as seen during on the CMT “100 Greatest Duets” performance of “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma.”
