Guitarist Justin Lowe Dead: After The Burial Artist Grieved By Metal Community

After the Burial guitarist Justin Lowe is dead, having been found by a hiker under the Arcola High Bridge. The metal musician had previously left the band and allegedly jumped to his death.

Unlike the slew of rockers in the past who all died at the age of 27, such as Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, and Jimi Hendrix, Lowe died at the age of 32. He had been reported missing on Saturday after having what appeared to be a mental meltdown on Facebook.

Lowe’s alleged paranoid rant has since been removed, but his bandmates confirmed that he wasn’t well, despite their efforts to help him.

“Justin is ill, and right now he needs more than ever to be shown that the world is not against him. This is a very sad and hurtful situation for us to grasp, and unfortunately it is one we still don’t fully understand. Our dear friend, our brother onstage and off, has fallen into a very broken state of mind. A state that, despite our continued efforts, we have been powerless to get him out.”

The alleged Facebook post preceding Justin Lowe’s being found dead claimed that his family and friends had all been conspiring against him, says the Examiner. Among the conspiracy theories was that his computer had been sabotaged, as well as drug-related accusations involving him having been framed for a friend’s suicide. He alleged that lead guitarist Trent Hafdahl had helped set him up not only for murder, but sexual assault.

Deputy Scott Knudson has confirmed that Lowe’s death is consistent with a fall, which works together with his disappearance on Saturday. His car had been spotted in the parking lot by the bridge above, and authorities do not suspect foul play.

The heavy metal community has gone on to offer their condolences on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram after the news broke about Justin Lowe being found dead.
