WWE Rumors: ‘SummerSlam’ Plans Starting To Come Together — Seven Rumored Matches Will Add To Brock Lesnar Vs. Undertaker

WWE SummerSlam is now officially one month away, and there is only one match confirmed and on the card. That one is obviously The Undertaker facing off with Brock Lesnar, but so far, that’s it. Now, after the events of Monday Night RAW and the SmackDown taping on Tuesday, there are seven other matches being rumored for the big event.

The one match set in place is a brawl of a rematch that is over a year in the making.

With The Undertaker working on a very limited schedule, some thought they may never see him try to avenge his streak being broken by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX. Now, he will take on the “Beast Incarnate,” and it’s going to be a big-time fight for the ages.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that there are at least seven other matches being rumored for SummerSlam at this time. Some of them have been expected and heard of before, but others are just coming about due to events that have happened this week.

Sting, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose vs. The Wyatt Family &???

Sting will be coming back and will have a match at the PPV, and it’s expected to be in a six-man tag with two of the three former members of The Shield. They will take on a reunited Wyatt Family of Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, and a third member, who could end up being Bo Dallas.

Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro

Kevin Owens‘ status on the WWE main event roster is sort of being questioned at this point. He is confirmed to face Finn Balor at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn the night before SummerSlam, but some believed he wouldn’t be on WWE’s big card.

Well, the SmackDown spoilers for this week show that Owens actually attacks Cesaro and hits him with a pop-up powerbomb to end the show. That pretty much sealed a new program, and has them set for a match at SummerSlam.

WWE Title Match — Seth Rollins vs. John Cena

After John Cena interrupted Seth Rollins on Monday night, this looks like your WWE Title match program going forward. Many have wondered though if it will be “Champion vs. Champion,” and if the United States Title will be on the line, too.

Rusev & Summer Rae vs. Dolph Ziggler & Lana

Ziggler is still out filming a movie right now, and there’s been no solid word on when he will be back. Lana is keeping the feud alive, just in case he is back in time and the mixed tag can happen. If not, Rusev could possibly be added to the Owens vs. Cesaro match.

WWE Tag-Title Match — The Prime Time Players vs. The New Day vs.???

The New Day interfering in the PTP’s match on Monday showed that the trio isn’t going away just yet. It’s highly possible that a stipulation could be added, or that another team or two may be added to the mix by the time SummerSlam rolls around.

Intercontinental Title Match — Ryback (c) vs. Big Show

After Ryback was removed from the Battleground card, the IC Title match was held up, and it left Big Show to simply walk out and punch out The Miz. Show destroyed Miz on Monday night too, and if Ryback can come back from his staph infection, then it will be those two for the title.

Divas Match

Two possibilities are being thrown around for this match right now, after the NXT revolution began. One is a triple threat tag match with Team BAD vs. Team Paige vs. Team Bella. Another is a Divas Title match between Nikki Bella, Sasha Banks, and Charlotte.

SummerSlam doesn’t have a lot in place so far, but there are a lot of rumored matches, and some big things coming. Fans are anxiously awaiting the return of Sting and who may join the Wyatts along with everything else, so it’s about to be a fun month.
