Ginger Zee’s Baby Reveal! [Video]
Ever since Ginger Zee and her husband, NBC correspondent Ben Aaron, announced in June that Ginger was pregnant with their first baby, fans have eagerly awaited the reveal of the unborn child’s sex. Aaron and Zee, 34, made the big announcement Tuesday morning on Good Morning America, where Zee is the chief meteorologist. The special set for the baby reveal included giant wooden alphabet blocks. At the end of the show, Ginger, Ben and Good Morning America co-hosts lifted the lids of the blocks to reveal clouds of blue balloons. “It’s a boy!” exclaimed Ben as the studio filled with balloons.

According to People, Zee said that a lot of people told her that the baby was a boy, but she herself didn’t have a feeling either way about it. Now that they know the baby’s sex, they’ll have to come up with a name. “Ben and I do not agree on names yet,” she said, and Ben added that Ginger has made some “weird” suggestions like “Stephanopoulos.”

Ginger talked about her adventurous life, including nerve-wracking experiences like skydiving and swimming with sharks, but said this would be the scariest adventure yet.
“All the other adventures promise you a return home. This is like when you get home the adventure’s there. That’s the big difference—it’s why it’s so emotional for me, because I’ll do anything but this scares me!”
Zee doesn’t have any intention of giving up the “daredevil” lifestyle. For Ben and Ginger, babies and adventures go together perfectly, so long as you have the right accessories!
When they first announced the pregnancy, Ginger told People magazine, “I think I need to get a BabyBjörn that fits on a paraglider,” and called motherhood her “most extreme adventure yet!”

“The ultrasound expert did her first swipes,” writes Zee, “We could see a real spine, the brain, each hand and the legs. Finally she went between the legs. I saw it right away!” But Ben had more difficulty understanding what he was seeing in the ultrasound. He asked, “And what is that?” Ginger says it was a “funny moment” since it was obvious to her that she and Ben were having a baby boy.
“Ahhhhh! Finding out the gender was one of the best days so far. Honestly, I had no preference one way or another. We were both so happy to just hear everything looked healthy so far and hope it keeps going this way.”
Zee and Aaron are still nearly newlyweds, recently celebrating the first anniversary of their June, 2014, beachside wedding in Michigan. Their baby boy is due in December.
