How Normal: Niall Horan, Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson Pictured With Pot Pipe On Boys’ Night
Pop star buddies Justin Bieber, Niall Horan, and Cody Simpson enjoyed a jam session in Los Angeles on Sunday night, (July 19).
During their evidently fun evening, Cody posted a Snapchat video at 3 a.m. revealing the pals jamming around a table. A yellow, glass pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana, is seen on the table near a bottle of water, a lighter, a CD case, remote controls, and various smaller objects, including what might have been herb pieces.
In the 10-second clip, Cody, 18, is seen strumming a guitar while Justin, 21, sings ad-libs over their 2014 duet “Home to Mama.” Niall, also 21, sits at one end of a sofa listening to the music, while Simpson’s buddy, Corey Harper, is seen playing a guitar.

While it’s known that this type of glass pipe is commonly used for smoking marijuana (also known as pot or weed), as yet there are no details on who the pipe belongs to, or what — if anything — anyone was smoking.
It’s also important to note that there is no evidence suggesting any of the singers were taking drugs.
In the past, Cody has previously admitted to smoking weed. Back in April, TMZ reported that the Australian star posted a pic of a packet of suspicious looking cigarettes, which he deleted. The site stated the “Brown Eyes” singer then shared snaps of joints from inside a recording studio.
Bieber kicked off his January 2013 with TMZ publishing photos of him allegedly smoking a joint with pals at a hotel. Following his 2014 DUI arrest, Bieber’s toxicology report showed trace marijuana and Xanax were in his system at the time of his arrest.
However, following public apologies during the first three months of 2015, the Canadian has been seen picking up supplies at Vaping stores in L.A. This suggests Bieber has cut down on nicotine and other possible smoking habits.
Meanwhile, Niall’s One Direction bandmates were recently made to post a “weed bond” before a Philippines concert after a viral video of Louis Tomlinson and ex-member Zayn Malik allegedly smoking weed surfaced online.
To the surprise of no-one, the UK’s well-known tabloid muck-raker, The Sun — which has a decades-long history of unethical, dubious reporting — attempted to claim in their report that the marijuana pipe seen in Cody’s Snapchat video suggested possible crystal meth use. The tabloid based this idea on the Breaking Bad TV series.
However, most media outlets recognized The Sun’s claims as ludicrous ante-raising and stuck with pot speculation, seeing as neither singer has ever been linked with crystal meth before.
But by far the biggest takeaway from this story, is just how much of a non-story it would be if Cody Simpson, Justin Bieber, and Niall Horan were not famous.
Given that a large proportion of the population and celebrities including — Miley Cyrus, Bill Maher, Seth Rogen, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Timberlake, Willie Nelson, Rihanna, Cameron Diaz, Sarah Silverman, Frances McDormand, Kristen Stewart, Susan Sarandon, Charlize Theron, Kirsten Dunst, and so many more — openly admit to using weed, it is bizarre why anyone cares whether or not three adult musicians may have enjoyed marijuana during a Sunday night jam session.
Also on Sunday, Bieber, Horan and Simpson took impromptu selfies with fans outside the 1200 Sunset Marquis hotel in West Hollywood, which set Twitter alight once the pictures surfaced.
