Dakota Meyer: Medal Of Honor Recipient Calls For ‘Full Institution Of 2nd Amendment’ After Chattanooga Marines Killed

Dakota Meyer, Medal of Honor recipient and former fiancee of Bristol Palin, has called for a “full institution of the Second Amendment” after four Marines were killed in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Thursday.

Meyer took to Facebook with an impassioned call to arms for all Americans.

“I, for one, do not plan to give away my ability to defend myself and those I care about,” Meyer said.

He continued, “I carry a firearm with me at all times legally under the conceal and carry laws in the area that I am in. I do not call for a disarming of Americans but instead a full institution of the 2nd Amendment so that we may defend ourselves as a country from all threats, both foreign and domestic. The threat is here, this is real, and this will not be the end of it.”

The shooter was identified as Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, the 24-year-old son of middle-class parents, an earlier report from the Inquisitr notes.

Abdulazeez had a minor run-in with law enforcement on April 21, 2015, for driving under the influence in Hamilton County, Tennessee, according to a report on the Chattanoogan.com.

People who knew him from high school are said to be shocked by his involvement, but Dakota Meyer didn’t seem to be surprised when he took to Facebook.

“Evil is not just over seas, but also here at home,” Meyer said. “Moments after this tragedy had occurred ISIS sent out via Twitter that they were responsible for the attacks and that the shooter, Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez was one of theirs. ISIS said recently that they were coming to American soil to kill members of the United States Military and now that threat has come to fruition.”

The Medal of Honor and Purple Heart recipient also sent a thinly-veiled criticism of President Obama’s administration with this quote.

“This incident IS an act of domestic terrorism, regardless of how Washington spins it, regardless of what nationality, color, creed, or otherwise the shooter was. This was a planned attack on the United Stated Military on United States soil. Now is not the time to come out waiving photos of bullet holes in the glass calling for more gun control and spinning the story to yield a further separation of peoples in the Unites States. Now is the time for a call on the American people to finally realize the state of the world we are living in and the enemy that we face. Now is the time to call… on the American people to ignore the propaganda that special interest groups have been shoving in our faces and unite as a country so that we may become our neighbor’s keeper.”

Most commenters on the Dakota Meyer Facebook page saw eye-to-eye with the conservative war hero, but there were a few standouts.

“Americans (in general) really are the retards of society! Sorry but this thread backs my statement 100%.”

“Only if you are white can you legally carry a concealed weapon without impunity. Yes it was a domestic act if terrorism just like Dylan Roof [sic] in South Carolina!”

“I still can’t believe after all these mistakes you people are still addicted to war.”

What do you think about the pushback and the Dakota Meyer post itself? Is the Medal of Honor recipient right in calling Americans to start carrying weapons with them wherever they go, or will that only lead to more trouble? Sound off in the comments section.
