‘The Vampire Diaries’ Paul Wesley Reveals Why He Loves Kissing Candice Accola

Many of The Vampire Diaries fans had been waiting five seasons to see Stefan Salvatore and Caroline Forbes finally get together. After season two, where Stefan helped Caroline with her new vampirism, it soon became clear that there was definitely chemistry between them. However, for one reason or another the relationship could not happen. Then in season six there was finally the opportunity, and even a kiss.

Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan on The Vampire Diaries has hinted that more kissing will come up. He said at Comic Con that he really enjoys the kissing scenes, because he gets to make his co-star Candice Accola feel awkward. He is friends with her husband, and she does not feel right kissing Wesley all the time. Luckily, the awkwardness is laughable, and it seems Candice sees the funny side of his love.

“I just love making Candice feel awkward on set. Candice is married; I’m friends with her husband; I love when we get to do make-out scenes because it’s uncomfortable and so funny.”

It appears that the Steroline relationship will move forward in season seven. The Vampire Diaries needs an epic romance somewhere, and Accola is now the leading lady after Nina Dobrev’s exit last season. The good news is that it looks like the age of the love triangle is over, because Damon and Caroline have no interest in each other. Tyler leaving Mystic Falls and Matt not really wanting anything to do with vampires also removes the possibility of two ex-boyfriends for Caroline.

Season six of the vampire show ended with Stefan telling Caroline he would wait for her. He understands that Caroline is not in a place to be involved with anyone right now. She has just turned her humanity back on, after using that as a coping method of deal with the natural death of her mother.

According to Melty, Paul believes that Caroline will be Stefan’s final match on The Vampire Diaries. Whether that means because they are destined to be together or because Stefan will die soon is unknown. There are still some fans holding out for a relationship between Caroline and Klaus, with Caroline possibly moving to New Orleans to be with the badboy hybrid.

Season six of The Vampire Diaries will return on October 7, followed by spin-off The Originals for the first time on the CW network. KpopStarz even hints that Elena Gilbert could make a return, since Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon, told San Diego Comic Con that she is just napping. It is unlikely that Elena will return this season, unless Nina has changed her mind about bowing out of The Vampire Diaries.
