‘Road To Riches’ Featuring NeNe Leakes & Kim Zolciak Has Been Canceled Due To ‘Scheduling Issues’

Road To Riches has just been canceled. Months ago, NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak announced they would soon begin filming for a new Bravo reality series, which would reunite them on the small screen for the first time since their days on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Unfortunately, the women’s “scheduling” conflicts have since made the series impossible to film.

On July 14, TMZ announced Road To Riches had been 86ed by the network.

“The ‘Housewives’ BFFs-turned-frenemies just couldn’t get on the same page. Kim is in the midst of shooting her show, ‘Don’t Be Tardy’ — and NeNe is taping the ABC game show, ‘To Tell the Truth.’ “

According to TMZ, there is “the slimmest of chances” Leakes and Zolciak’s Road To Riches could be launched in the future, but at this point, it has been removed from Bravo’s upcoming lineup.

Leakes and Zolciak have had an on-again, off-again relationship in recent years. Although they came aboard The Real Housewives of Atlanta as close friends, their relationship became strained during filming, and eventually, Zolciak left the series to star in her own show, Don’t Be Tardy, which debuts its fourth season next month. Then, years later, as the Inquisitr reported, Leakes announced her own departure from the show.

During an interview with People Magazine in June, weeks after Road To Riches was announced, Leakes explained that while the decision to leave The Real Housewives of Atlanta was hard, she felt she was doing the right thing.

“This was definitely a hard decision for me,. Me and my husband [Gregg Leakes] have been going back and forth on it for weeks now. But my contract is up and I just think this is the right time. This is my opportunity to spread my wings and do different things… I feel a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.”

Also at the time, Leakes said her co-stars, including Kenya Moore and Claudia Jordan, would likely find her announcement to be good news.

“I think some of the girls will be happy. They always felt like I was the star, and they were never able to really shine with me there, so here’s their opportunity to shine, [but] I’m not saying I’m gone forever. I’ll probably pop up and play with those girls every now and then.”

Leakes and Zolciak have remained silent on the Road To Riches cancellation thus far.
