Alexander Ciccolo: Estranged Son Of Boston Police Captain Arrested, Accused Of Terror Plot
Alexander Ciccolo has been arrested in Adams, Massachusetts, after police learned that he was planning a terror attack at a U.S. college. According to ABC News, Ciccolo is the estranged son of Boston Police Captain, Robert Ciccolo. The report indicates Alexander Ciccolo, 23, had ties to ISIS, and neighbors say that he recently converted to Islam.

Using the name Abu Ali al-Amriki, Alexander has been on the FBI’s radar for an unknown amount of time. He was taken into custody on July 4, however, after he purchased weapons — two pistols and two rifles — from an undercover FBI confidential informant. After his arrest, police searched his apartment.
What they found was quite alarming.

Alexander Ciccolo was apparently planning a major attack on American soil, and had “possible bomb-making equipment” all over his apartment. Perhaps planning something similar to what the Tsarnaev brothers pulled off at the 2013 Boston Marathon, Ciccolo had at least one pressure cooker and a “variety of chemicals” in his house. Police say that they also found “attack planning papers” and “jihad” paperwork, but did not release further details.
“An FBI affidavit said Ciccolo initially planned to travel to ‘another state’ and use a pressure cooker bomb ‘to conduct terrorist attacks on civilians, members of the U.S. military and law enforcement personnel.’ The FBI said the attack location was later changed to a town with a state university and would be concentrated on ‘college dorms and cafeteria, to include executions of students, which would be broadcast live via the internet.’ “
Alexander Ciccolo’s family released a statement following his arrest. It was posted on the Boston Police Department’s webpage on Monday.
“While we were saddened and disappointed to learn of our son’s intentions, we are grateful that authorities were able to prevent any loss of life or harm to others. At this time, we would ask that the public and the media recognize our grief and respect our desire for privacy.”
According to Fox News, Ciccolo was taken to Franklin House of Correction, and during a medical check-up, he stabbed a nurse with a pen.
Extremist group ISIS made headlines today for something completely unrelated — and even more disturbing. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the group blew up an orphaned baby as part of a training exercise.
