Jennifer Hudson, Big Fan Of Same-Sex Marriage, Crashes A Gay Wedding [Video]
Jennifer Hudson is a big fan of same-sex marriage — so much so that she showed her support for the cause by crashing the wedding of a gay Texas couple and serenading the happy grooms and their guests, People is reporting.
Chris and Scott Lindsey have been together for 14 years and have four children together, but until last month, they were unable to tie the knot legally in Texas. That all changed with last month’s landmark Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage in all 50 states.
Hudson, who has long been a supporter of same-sex marriage, worked in secret with the guys’ wedding venue, the W Hotel in Dallas, to surprise the couple. As Us Magazine reports, after Chris and Scott exchanged their vows, the guests watched a video Hudson had sent, congratulating them on their happy day. Then the Oscar winner and American Idol alum emerged from behind a curtain to serenade the guests with her newest song, “I Still Love You.”

Hudson, 33, has long been a supporter of same-sex marriage. In a 2014 People interview, she talked about her partnership with Dallas’ W Hotel and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), and the HRC’s monthly concerts to benefit the LGBTQ community.
“I’m very connected to the gay community, and it’s something I’m passionate about. It only makes sense. This is my way of returning it.”
Of course, as Taylor Swift says, haters gonna hate, and on Hudson’s Instagram feed, it’s clear that not everybody is on board with the idea of the performer showing her support for same-sex marriage.
“Gay marriage…. i will never agree with it.”
“at the end of the day–you will be looked at as a sick lost child and I will be looked at as a Normal human being that can make babies and make the world go round.”
Others, however, realized that Jennifer just wanted be a part of two people who love each other having their moment.
“The truth is, we are all flesh and blood. Humans. The world will go round, you couldn’t stop it if you tried. What you can control is how the world moves… with love or hate. Please be mindful of that. Love is essential, especially at this time.”
