‘Real Housewives’ Star Ramona Singer Talks Divorce, Claims Mario Felt ‘Left Behind’

The Real Housewives of New York City star Ramona Singer has opened up about her ongoing divorce from husband Mario. During a July 9 interview with People Magazine, the longtime reality star spoke of the end of her 20-year marriage to Mario, which was prompted by his infidelities.

“I think he felt that we were no longer a team. It was my success as a celebrity reality star and notoriety that bothered him. If someone said, ‘Can I take a photo with Ramona?’ or interrupted our conversation at dinner, he would get upset.”

Although the Real Housewives star hinted Mario had a valid reason for his feelings, he unfortunately didn’t relay them to her until it was too late.

“He could have jumped in but he continued to be passive… The affair was really a symptom of unhappiness. [But] it’s still betrayal.”

Rather than talk to the Real Housewives star about his feelings towards her fame, Mario engaged in an affair with a 30-something socialite in the New York City area. While Singer eventually caught the couple together, she opted to work on her marriage, and for months, from early 2014 until the summer of 2014, she attempted to get things back to normal. Unfortunately, the Real Housewives star was unsuccessful, and by August of that year, she decided to move forward with the divorce. A short time later, Mario and his mistress, whom he got back with around the same time, called it quits.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Real Housewives star recently spoke out about her future plans for marriage, claiming she’d be remarried in just two years. In an interview with In Touch Weekly, Singer, who recently filming the season 7 reunion for the New York City-based Real Housewives franchise, confirmed she had not lost hope in finding her soulmate, despite the devastating end of her marriage to Mario.

“Two years from now, you’re going to see me married! I still believe in love. I was very fortunate. I was married for more than 20 years. Most marriages last 10. I’m on a new journey now and I have no doubt I’ll find someone who will be a better fit for me today.”

Singer went on to describe her Mr. Perfect, stating, “He’s in his 50s and has been married, with children in college. He is successful but doesn’t work from 8 to 8, so we can take long weekends and vacations. And he loves to kiss!”

The Real Housewives of New York City season seven airs on Tuesday nights on Bravo at 9 p.m.
