‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin Says He Had ‘Nothing To Do’ With Roddy Piper Leaving PodcastOne

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin has responded to rumors that he had something to do with the removal of WWE legend “Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s podcast from the PodcastOne platform.

The “feud” stems from a podcast where comedian Will Sasso appeared on the Piper’s Pit podcast and did an unflattering impersonation of the former World Heavyweight Champion and the company’s most popular personality in history (alongside Hulk Hogan).

According to Piper, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin built his entire career on just three words — “What?” and “H*** Yeah!”)

Inappropriate Earl, Piper’s co-host, also took aim at Austin, saying that some people should “have a f***ing sense of humor.”

“We get it, you can crack open a can of beer and come out in a f***in’ 2×4 truck… If you can’t laugh at yourself after doing that for 25 years, and starting off as ‘Stunning’ Steve Austin in WCW, come on now,” Earl added.

The whole show took a tone that Austin admits he didn’t appreciate, but he had nothing to do with Piper’s show getting removed from the platform.

In comments on his own podcast, “Stone Cold” had this to say.

“To Roddy, you’re one of the all time greats in the professional wrestling business. I cheered for you as a babyface, I booed for you as a heel and respected everything that you did. Your Hall of Fame career speaks for what it is. To that, no hard feelings. I don’t want to back and forth on this, it’s a closed book. That’s my side of the story, I will not respond to anything else. What I’ve spoken is the bottom line, and what I’ve spoken is the truth. I had nothing to do with Roddy Piper leaving Podcast One. End of story.”

What Austin did admit to, however, was calling the president of PodcastOne to see why Piper took his show off the platform.

According to Austin, the president said that Piper wanted to “focus on his life,” WrestlingInc reports.

Austin also admitted that he felt Piper’s podcast with Sasso “had some business of a personal nature that I didn’t care to have floating around there being downloaded in cyberspace, so I had it removed from rotation.”

But after that event, both he and Piper continued podcasting for the platform, so the fallout between Piper and PodcastOne had nothing to do with him.

According to WrestleZone, Piper has since been active on Twitter, implying negative things about Austin, including that he may have been responsible for the end of Piper’s WWE Legends contract.
