‘RHONY’ Season Eight Cast: Who’s Returning & Who’s Been Fired?

The RHONY season eight cast may see some major changes. According to a new report, yesterday’s reunion filming served as an audition, of sorts, to see who Bravo would keep on the show, and who they would let go. On July 8, a network source revealed the following to the New York Daily NewsConfidenti@l.

“No decisions have been revealed to the cast yet. Discussions have taken place internally, but why would we tell someone they are fired before the reunion taping? They wouldn’t show up. The ladies are told that the reunion taping is their chance to convince (executive producer Andy Cohen) and the other producers that they should be invited back.”

The source went on to claim all of the women were told to “bring the crazy” if they wanted to be included in the RHONY season eight cast.

“If anyone holds back or tries to be neutral and mend fences, they will be gone. No one is safe with the ratings being so low.”

While ratings on the seventh season of The Real Housewives of New York City were an improvement from last year, they still haven’t returned to what they once were, and producers are determined to do what it takes to return the series to that place — even if it means giving a number of the ladies the boot.

The source revealed that during the recently filmed reunion, LuAnn de Lesseps gave Bravo a reason to keep her on the show for RHONY season eight. Apparently, she launched into a tirade against Ramona Singer, and brought up Singer’s husband’s affair during her attack.

“She pointed out that Ramona was always talking about LuAnn’s ‘cheating’ husband and asked her point-blank, ‘How does it feel now?’ “

As for Kristen Taekman, the source claimed her role on RHONY season eight was far from solidified by her season seven reunion performance. Although she had been encouraged to bring the drama, she didn’t do much, aside from her confrontation with Sonja Morgan, which was hardly acknowledged by her fellow reality stars.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, rumors of Taekman’s possible exit from the show ahead of RHONY season eight first surfaced weeks ago. At the time, a source told Page Six that Bravo was considering letting her go because of the ongoing tension between her and the show’s unofficial star, Bethenny Frankel, who returned for season seven after a three-season hiatus.

RHONY season eight has yet to be officially confirmed by Bravo.
