Rockstar Games Releases Max Payne 3 TV Trailer

The first TV advertisement for Max Payne 3 debuted last night on ESPN, and now Rockstar has uploaded the video on YouTube to give those of us eager for the game’s launch something to look at while we wait.

As far as TV advertisements go, there’s a surprising amount of content to see in the trailer. Most TV spots for video games generally favor showing off pretty CG over gameplay, but Rockstar showed off quite a bit of in-game action, even if most of them are cutscenes.

If there’s something you associate with Max Payne, there’s a good chance it’s featured in the Max Payne 3 TV advert in some form or another. Naturally, that includes a healthy dose of slow-motion gun battling.

In case you forgot what Max Payne 3 is all about, here’s the official description of the game from Rockstar:

“For Max Payne, the tragedies that took his loved ones years ago are wounds that refuse to heal. No longer a cop, close to washed up and addicted to pain killers, Max takes a job in São Paulo, Brazil, protecting the family of wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco, in an effort to finally escape his troubled past. But as events spiral out of his control, Max Payne finds himself alone on the streets of an unfamiliar city, desperately searching for the truth and fighting for a way out.”

Max Payne 3 is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 15, with a release date on PC following on May 29. You can check out the first Max Payne 3 TV trailer below.
