Meg Ryan stunned at a show during Paris Fashion Week. It’s been a long time since Meg last appeared in public, which was at the 41st Annual Chaplin Award Gala in April 2014. But Ryan looked like a throwback picture of the actress in When Harry Met Sally as she showed up for the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2015-16 show, reported E News .
Last seen in Serious Moonlight , Meg is starring in and directing Ithaca . In addition to Ryan, the show features Tom Hanks, Melanie Griffith, Sam Shepard, and Meg’s son Jack Quaid. The plot is drawn from William Saroyan’s classic 1943 book The Human Comedy .
But although Meg has been an elusive figure publicly, she’s been romantic with John Mellencamp for years. Even when they split after dating for three years, John refused to say that the romance was ended.
“She’s an angel sent to me, and I’m very happy,” declared Mellencamp. “And, you know, nothing’s over ’til it’s over.”
What was the problem?
“There were disagreements over style of life and logistical problems which clouded their relationship,” revealed an insider. “But there is no doubt that he cares for her a great deal.”
And that caring from 64-year-old John, coupled with a renewal of love from Meg, worked as the pair reunited in autumn.
“They are a great couple,” said a source enthusiastically. “All their friends were hoping it would work out.”
But what didn’t work out for Meg, now 53, was life in Hollywood and marriage to Dennis Quaid. Although Ryan succeeded in multiple films, she left Tinsel Town and now tries to stay private.
Ryan also felt hurt after she was featured in multiple media outlets after her marriage dissolved and she had an affiar with Russell Crowe.
“So this is what it feels like to be the scarlet woman. Oh! I’m having that experience now! It was also incredibly liberating. Now I was utterly free. I didn’t have to care about what people thought. I have gotten to do what I guess I secretly wanted to do,” admitted Meg. “Be totally under the radar and live my life.”
Once known as America’s Sweetheart after the hit film Sleepless in Seattle , Meg has attempted to protect her children as well, reported People .
In addition to Jack Quaid, Meg has an 8-year-old daughter Daisy Ryan and also cherishes her relationship with Mellencamp. But it’s all a long distance mentally and physically from Hollywood.
“[Living in New York] makes you different,” explained Ryan’s pal writer Delia Ephron”Los Angeles is just about movies. New York is about so much more than that, and so is Meg.”
And Ryan isn’t alone in trying to maintain her privacy. As the Inquisitr reported, Renee Zellweger has become known for staying out of the public spotlight. She recently received a backlash for denying that she had plastic surgery despite her noticeably changed appearance.
