Ex-Disney CEO, Michael Eisner, Says ‘Most Funny Women Aren’t Beautiful’: Calls Goldie Hawn ‘An Exception’

Ex-Disney CEO, Michael Eisner, is making serious waves with a comment he made about women known for comedy. He said “most funny women aren’t beautiful.” While speaking with Goldie Hawn at the Aspen Ideas Festival, he blurted out his harsh opinion of today’s comediennes.

“The hardest artist to find is a beautiful, funny woman,” Eisner told Hawn.

Eisner knew his comments were going to emerge online, but that didn’t deter him from continuing in his talk with Goldie Hawn — whom he calls “an exception,” Daily Mail reports.

“Boy I’m going to get in trouble, I know this goes online. But usually, unbelievably beautiful women – you being an exception – are not funny.”

Michael Eisner was the CEO of Disney from 1984 until 2002. His views have sparked a huge reaction on social media with people naming several women whom they feel are BOTH funny AND beautiful. Tina Fey, Mindy Kalig, and Kristen Wiig are just a few names being mentioned who have the “unattainable formula.”

One Twitter user tagged Eisner with this post: “@ConstanceZimmer @THR WFT Mr. Eisner, have you ever heard of Constance Zimmer, Tina Fay, Emma Stone, and there’s many more, duh!”

Another tweeted: “I’m also sure, by that logic, that Eisner’s wife is thrilled to find out that her husband finds her either ugly or a humourless shrill.”

Like many Twitter users right now, another listed the names of women famous for their comedy, writing: “@Jellybellys78 @Ez4u2say_Janis @THR @Michael_Eisner Tina Fey,Sandra Bullock,Emma Stone,Leslie Mann,Julia Louis Dreyfuss,Anna Faris..etc..etc”.

Michael Eisner didn’t stop there. He went on to tell Hawn of only one celebrity he can think of who had the whole package when it comes to comedy and beauty. He named Lucille Ball as a woman who was hilarious without sacrificing beauty.

“I know women who have been told they’re beautiful, they win Miss Arkansas, they don’t ever have to get attention other than with their looks. So they don’t tell a joke. In the history of the motion-picture business, the number of beautiful, really beautiful women — a Lucille Ball — that are funny, is impossible to find.”

Goldie Hawn told the former Disney CEO that she always viewed herself as an “ugly duckling,” which inspired her to look into comedy.

Twitter users offended by Michael Eisner’s opinion named other comediennes they believe are funny and beautiful, such as Ellen DeGeneres, Amy Schumel, Maya Rudolph, and Amy Poehler.
