Kate Hudson Belts Out ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ In Her Pajamas [Video]

Kate Hudson celebrated Independence Day in a very brave way — she proved that she can absolutely slay the “The Star-Spangled Banner,” and she did while rocking her PJs.

Most gals would die of embarrassment if thousands of people saw them singing in their pajamas, but not Kate Hudson. According to CNN, she recently showed her fans that she can really belt out a tune early in the morning. In the Instagram video below, Kate sings “The Star-Spangled Banner” while she enjoys her morning cup of Joe. She shows her passion for patriotism by really getting into the tune — she swings her free arm around and moves up and down as she nails each note.

As you can see, Kate Hudson says that she’s gearing up for football season, so maybe this means that she’s planning on singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” before an NFL game. Kate thinks her kids are going to be embarrassed, but how can anyone hate enthusiastic patriotism like that?

You might be slightly shocked that the Almost Famous actress can sing so well, but this isn’t the first time she’s showed off her vocal skills. During an interview with Access Hollywood, Kate revealed that she loved getting to sing on the FOX TV series Glee.

“Doing all three — singing and dancing and acting and I love it. I just love it!” the blonde beauty gushed.

Kate Hudson played a dance teacher on Glee, and it looks like her love of dance has spilled over into her love life. Her previous romances included musicians Chris Robinson and Matt Bellamy, but she was most recently linked to Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Derek and Kate have known each other for a few years, and Kate actually took ballroom lessons from the DWTS pro. According to Us Weekly, Derek and Kate were spotted getting cozy at a U2 concert back in May.

Kate Hudson might love to sing and dance, but it looks like her first love is still making movies. The Hollywood Reporter recently reported that Kate might score a part in director Garry Marshall’s latest project, a movie simply titled Mother’s Day. Julia Roberts has already signed on for the film, and Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis are in talks to join the cast.

Mother’s Day is the latest in Marshall’s growing list of movies centered on holidays. He’s taken on Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve, but an alien-less Independence Day is still on the table. Perhaps he should consider asking Kate Hudson to belt out “The Star-Spangled Banner” again when that movie inevitably gets made.
