Rapper Mystikal Heading Back To Jail

Mystikal is heading back to jail. The rapper, whose real name is Michael Tyler, violated his parole and will go back behind bars for 90-days

The Huffington Post reports that Mystikal served six years in Louisiana prison for sexual battery and extortion. He was released in 2010.

After his release, Mystikal said:

“It was tough. I took it in stride,” he said of his situation. “I’m back. It almost feels like a dream. For a while, it felt like, I was gone so long.”

Mystikal was arrested in February on a misdemeanor charge of domestic abuse. State District Judge Tony Marabella sentenced to rapper to 90-days in prison for violating his parole. Marabella did give the rapper credit for the 9-days he was detained after his arrest so Mystikal will actually only be spending another 81-days in jail.

MTV reports that the rapper signed a deal with Cash Money records in December to work on his sixth studio album, Original. The New Orleans rapper has already released a video for the album’s lead single, but he’ll have to wait a few months before putting the finishing touches on the record. Mystikal told MTV news:

“I’m telling you, this album is gonna be so well worth the wait, believe that… Busta [Rhymes] was one of the first artists I worked with when I first came home. Busta came out there, came all the way to Baton Rouge. I’m talking about we got it in.”
