Iggy Azalea Disses Britney Spears: Did ‘Pretty Girls’ Bomb Because Of Brit?

Iggy Azalea isn’t too thrilled that her single with Britney Spears bombed, but apparently, she feels as though that’s Britney’s fault. According to TMZ, Iggy blames Brit for the failure of “Pretty Girls,” and says that more should have been done to make the track succeed. While Iggy doesn’t call Britney out directly, she does say that she was responsible.

“It’s difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and TV performances etc. Unfortunately I’m just featured. My comment is factual, it applies to any song. I don’t have to suck the woman’s a*****e 24/7 to be her friend, do I? Bye girls,” Iggy said.

Iggy Azalea and Britney Spears were so excited for their collaboration, but many fans were disappointed by the track. Despite the early hype, the song only reached the 29th spot on the Billboard Hot 100. According to Mail Online, the track’s music video has nearly 80 million views, but song sales didn’t quite add up.

“For what seemed to be weeks of hotly anticipated hype and media attention for the ‘Pretty Girls’ music video release, Iggy believed the overall reception was underwhelming. [Iggy] said she was willing to do more performances, hinting her duet partner Britney was the one letting the team down.”

Although Pretty Girls was expected to be the song of the summer, many fans find it quite annoying. However, can the sole blame fall on Britney’s shoulders? Perhaps the song just wasn’t good — no matter how much promotion Iggy and Britney did, the song wasn’t what people were hoping for.

Iggy recently announced that she was canceling her Great Escape Tour because she had “had a different creative change of heart,” according to Mail Online. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the Australia rapper also canceled six months of her upcoming work schedule. Engaged to LA Laker Nick Young, pregnancy rumors have been swirling, but Iggy cleared up those rumors herself.

Meanwhile, Britney Spears recently broke up with beau, Charlie Ebersol. She has a few weeks off this summer, and has been spending time with her two boys. She will resume her show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas in August. Her manager has said that she doesn’t have any plans to release a new album any time soon, but fans are hoping for another single, perhaps one that is better than “Pretty Girls” was.
