Kris Bryant Hangover: Did Chicago Cubs Star Leave Game Due To Hangover?

Kris Bryant hangover rumors reached the point where the Chicago Cubs star rookie had to address the situation.

At issue was the fact that Bryant had to leave during the third inning of a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 25. It was reported that he was suffering from “flu-like symptoms” and wasn’t going to be able to finish the game. Immediate speculation surfaced that he was hung over, especially since the excuse has been used before on a baseball field. A report from CBS Sports late Friday (June 26) quoted a response from Bryant on the situation.

“I think if you know the type of person I am, you know what I believe in. A trade would be more believable.”

It would be pretty easy to point out that Bryant didn’t exactly deny the allegations, but it’s also possible he didn’t feel like giving a real answer. The Cubs did end up getting shutout by the Dodgers (4-0), so it could be pretty embarrassing if he did admit to suffering from a hangover. At this point, though, the Kris Bryant hangover rumors might come to an end. Unless, of course, he has to leave another game in the near future due to “flu-like symptoms.” Regarding his recovery from getting sick, Bryant was right back in the lineup for Friday’s game (June 26).

There is a huge spotlight on Kris Bryant and the Chicago Cubs this season. For Bryant, it is because he is not only a strong candidate to win Rookie of the Year in the National League, but also because he might have a resume deserving of an All-Star selection. The spotlight is on the Cubs due to offseason spending and the promotion of some very talented young players. With a lot of early season success, Cubs fans are suddenly thinking about the World Series. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, bringing on Joe Maddon as the new manager of the team definitely got fans excited during the offseason.

Through his first 64 Major League games, Bryant has a.277 batting average, 24 extra base hits, 40 runs scored, and 43 RBIs. He also has a very impressive.379 on-base percentage and a very nice.850 OPS. Spending most of his time at third base, the most positive Kris Bryant rumors out there are that he could be in the MVP discussion. While that would be tough for a rookie to win, it doesn’t mean Chicago Cubs fans cannot dream about it happening.
